Hey!

As i said, i'm starting my project, after almost chopping my fj into a streetfighter, i decided to restore this beauty, and drive her as she diserves!

Here are the first pic's, i'll keep them coming as i move forward with the project.

First pic's, when i bought her, doesn't look much like an fj, does she?

discovered that it was a cheap black spray, so i washed it down with some gasolene

What i had planned, but dicided not to go down that road

More to follow...

A garage with a pit. They used to be common but I haven't seen one for years.

You could park the bike right next to it and use it like a makeshift lift table.

YOU could park your bike next to it with a fake coverover the hole, for a security system. Back on topic did it have a 900 ninja fairing on it?

have an awesome bike just waiting to be loved again ,, like the pit security idea, but needs a few pungy sticks in the bottom so the bastards cant just bugger off, ,
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

84 Fj1100  effie , with mods
( 88 ) Fj 1200  fairly standard , + blue spots
84 Fj1100 absolutely stock standard, now more stock , fitted with Fj12 twin system , no rusted headers for this felicity jayne

Yeah, that's the kawa gpz front fairing, someone mounted it up after a crash, i think, but, man, that's the ugliest thing i've seen in years... got rid of it as soon as i could. sold it

kirian

I would not want you all to think i'm not doing anything. stripped the first one down... sorry for the poor pictures, cellphone cam

also, tried out carbon vynil instead of a paintjob, i think it will look awesome, and save me some $$, i need both new tyres

will update soon!!

Your garage is WAY TOO CLEAN!

The vinyl idea looks like it might work. Good thinking!

that was my "for car parking only garage :D

main garage is not useable : brothers intruder in bits and pieces, also rebuilding, and 2 more bikes parked newt to it, so i took my project to a clean place :D

The vinyl looks pretty good, how hard was it to work with? Is that the 3m 1080?

it's actualy pretty easy. considering that was my first atempt at this, it's gone pretty well, and i'm statisfied. I think, that with some practice, i will not have any problems.

No, it's not 3m, it's tr1 (some chinese brand), but does the job well :D , cost me 20$ for 1.2 square meter, and i think i will need 2.5 more, so, in total, all the paintjob ill be 60$, and that is far less cheaper than 300-400$, that i would pay in a garage to paint it, and did not want to do it myself.

kirian

moving on with my project... slow but getting there. FYI, all the fairing mounts are repositioned on the 3cv, not the same as 1tx, so that's one job i did not plan to do...

had to cut new brackets from 3cv frame and weld them to my 1tx... btw, someone mentioned that my garage is way too clean, so i moved to my friends garage, he has far more tools, and with an extra set of hands i'm thinking this project will be going much quicker.

there, he donor motor and the old frame :D

grinding old 1tx mounts

wellding new mounts

testing the fairing, and, it fits like a glove :D

more to folow soon

kirian

no that was a kawasaki ninja (gpz900) fairing. got rid of that
