Feels goo t lose the weight, doesn't it. I used o be 3lbs. and due t o a medical condition I lost 60 lbs.and it feels great. Its a on easier on my knees. I need a pair of new ones,  can't stay on the bike for more than an hour before I have to get off and walk around. Big R

:good2: :good2: :good2: :good2: I am now down 32 lbs myself and still going.

well thanks, and good luck to you on your final 20 lbs.  I am still tweaking my suspension and have to go buy new riding gear again.

that last 20 lbs. can be tough so stick with it and don't get discouraged . It took time to put it on and takes time for it to come off.

Look at all you old geezers. As far as power to weight, I'm 5'10 and 155. If I went any lower, it'd take some pretty serious planning and would likely only be for weight-class martial arts competition--though I'd rather plan to bulk up and add muscle if I went that route. Back when I did wrestling in high school, I think I did drop down to 140-145 for competition.

Let me tell you though, at this weight, the FJ is indeed quite the rocket to ride. ;)

What's crazy is that I'm light enough that the rear shock on mine seems to provide at least acceptable performance.

Not everyone understands what a completely rational process this maintenance of a motorcycle is. They think it's some kind of a knack or some kind of affinity for machines in operation. They are right, but the knack is almost purely a process of reason.

so my fellow fj aficionados , want your fj to go faster ?  handle better? of course you do.

you could spend thousands on super light wheels , carbon fiber parts and all that.

spend money on engine parts , turbo's , nitrous.

I have found the secret trick to end the insanity. :wacko3:

lose weight   since the last west coast rally , I have lost weight through diet and exercise to the tune of 90 lbs.

going from a portly 365 lbs. to a svelte 275 lbs. :shok:

My fj feels like I gained 30 horsepower and I whip it around like a ninja 250.

an additional benefit is It doesn't jump out of 2nd gear at the moment so I postponed my tranny work .

so everybody get active drop some pounds and see the change in your fj's performance. :good2:
Hello Mark you have a red & white FJ; just like the one I have, and my weight is 150 lbs so my FJ runs out very well. you did good by loosing the weight have a fun summer.  gonzajr

thanks for the good vibes, you at 150lbs. on a fj I can only imagine how fun that is  :gamer:

The red and whites kick ass. do the wheel , shock, brake and fork mods and you will be amazed at the difference.

Little late to the party here, but good to hear about the weight loss Mark.

My first FJ rally I was pushing 220lbs.. Then through some life changes I dropped down to 150lbs and since then I've hung around 160-165.  Like you I eat what I want but keep it reasonable.  After losing all that weight I went back to Japan and one of my friends there had bought me an XXL shirt and apologized for it.  "Oh..Garth.. You so fat last time you here.. now you so skinny, shirt too big".  Actually the shirt fit perfectly.

All in all, after the life changes I actually lost an additional 150+ lbs.. which was a very good thing.   :sarcastic:

Looking forward to some of your BBQ.. I'll be happy to toss money in the hat for supplies.

Loosing weight has been good here also. Took the bike out the other day after a long list of winter time mods and about 40 lbs of weight missing. First thing I noticed is how lousy my lousy stock front end was. Then it dawned on me..... Lighten up the preload...... Works better now....

Had a Friend who told me he lost 140 lb's in one day !  I asked him how? He said he just went to the mail box and got a notice from the State of Idaho that he was being sued for divorce.......
