so my fellow fj aficionados , want your fj to go faster ?  handle better? of course you do.

you could spend thousands on super light wheels , carbon fiber parts and all that.

spend money on engine parts , turbo's , nitrous.

I have found the secret trick to end the insanity. :wacko3:

lose weight   since the last west coast rally , I have lost weight through diet and exercise to the tune of 90 lbs.

going from a portly 365 lbs. to a svelte 275 lbs. :shok:

My fj feels like I gained 30 horsepower and I whip it around like a ninja 250.

an additional benefit is It doesn't jump out of 2nd gear at the moment so I postponed my tranny work .

so everybody get active drop some pounds and see the change in your fj's performance. :good2:

I quit smoking and have managed to drop 15 lbs.... only 25 more to go and i will weight the same as i did in high school!

I feel better with a higher energy level than i've had in the past 5 years so i know you've got to be feeling better too.

Congratulations Mark !  Yeah, motorcycling has helped save my life again also.  I started a "bio engineered" suspension modification plan last Nov. Lost 22 lbs. and still going. Not only is it a fairly cheap way to improve the bike's performace it helps increase the longevity of the master mind in control.

When I was working I had to take a physical every year. When I retired 11 years ago I celebrated not having to weigh in every year and never bothered to stop the celebration ! Well there comes a time....  My exercise consists of a two wheeled gym set out in the garage. Crawling up down and down, doing resistance work unbolting and bolting. Arm exercises cleaning and polishing. Lifting said gym set on its center stand. Increased heart rate when buying stuff for gym set. :)

Hats off to everyone for taking care of themselves.  :hi:

Yeah, add me to the list of congratulators too.
I know about that Power to Weight formula, and have been trying to improve it on mine.
Unfortunately, so far it seems my scale is stuck on 105.  Maybe WD40 will fix it.
I think I need to try harder.
Eat less!!!  Exercise more!!! (or at least some) :-(

Good Onya!  for showing us the way

Thanks for the congrats everyone , I like feeling good with energy to do shit again . Maybe I will wash my fj this year. :nea:

Pat , Of course there will be BBQ at the WCR . That one in willits was awesome with 3 grills going and everything your heart desired cooked to perfection.
I still eat what I want , just be reasonable and don't go crazy. 225 sounds to far for me ,I am planning for 240-250 , I remember that being my best fighting weight.

George , I like the bio suspension plan . I have been retuning my suspension due to weight reduction .

Frank , congrats on the quitting smoking . thats tough to do , and extra tough to lose weight when you do. :good2:

I have one problem with your cunning plan, I to lost weight and congratulations on your efforts but when I had my big fat belly I could corner much better by just moving my gut from one side of the tank to the other  :good2:

Yeah , I hear ya on the easy weight distribution.
easy fix is raise the rear end up and that will compensate for the missing gut ballast. :good2:
