I want to thank Randy @ RPM for the ride on Sunday with Frank and Mike R it was a blast and it help me with my cornering. Mike you are a trooper ride all those hours just to join us!! Frank can wait to see how well your bike dose once it is dialed in!

I also wanted to thank you guys for dropping by for a nice afternoon ride. Got some good twisties on both of the Priest grades, a portion of the "little dragon" of Highway 49 as commonly mentioned and the B.A.R.F. forum. It sure did not seem like that was 120 miles.

I was able to get some good testing miles on a couple of prototype items in the works making each ride one step closer to production runs.

Here are the boys given two thumbs up in Groveland.

But, I have been in bed sick since I got back...I finally got up and around this afternoon to get the orders out. Hope I can get back to work tomorrow.

If anyone has tried to reach me, I am working my way through the emails that have accumulated since Sunday...

Looks like everyone had a good time. I have to say..... There are more FJ's in the photo than there are in the whole state of Kansas..... :unknown:

Nice run, Randy did you get that nasty flu going around ? there are 3 parts to it . the chest cold, head cold and stomach flu. some are getting all 3 parts and ending up in the hospital.

Everybody needs to disinfect parts from RPM before handling them. :bad:
Just saying that the virus can survive for days on a surface . wipe with Clorox and should be ok.

No, I just got the fever and head portion. Some minor chest congestion and no stomach issues.

I was feeling it on Sunday as the guys can attest and it really put a damper on the ride for me. But I am past it now, getting ready for spring.

Good morning,

Sunday last, the weather was cool & fair but the roads remained wet & damp so I left the foothills of far Northern California looking for better back road riding. Heading south to the Sacramento area, no luck as I encountered heavy fog and even cooler temperatures. So then I decided to head for the Central Valley area and I came across a sign that read 'Oakdale'.....

Not having been to R.P.M. for some time I took the chance that the shop would be open...  And indeed open it was...! As usual there were several race cars awaiting to be worked on but this day the focus was on two wheel Fj's only.

Some trailered their bikes while others rode to the palatial RPM shop, carpeting to work on and a place for each tool and each tool in its' place - it is a fact that Randy knows exactly where each tool is placed...

Having arrived late morning things were already happening. Among the people and Fj's was WindDancer and his 135 mph Rocket (see his recent post as to how he does it).

There was Randy's FJ still on the cool bike lift painted red to match the RPM logo undergoing fitment of yet another prototype FJ specific part.

Flynt was there as well with his work of art FJ. I noticed the strange forks and when I inquired about them he simply said to "ask Mr. Conlin, he can pray for you, I mean explain them to you". His (now wheelie in any gear) bike was receiving final engine adjustments prior to dyno testing. There is speculation as to the expected bhp but rest assured that regardless of the final numbers Brutus will have serious competition...!

I asked Flynt from whom he purchased the (stock) Fj and he said from the "handsome & debonair Australian". I e-mailed Baldy but he responded that no, it was not he who sold that bike and that as far as he knows there is not another Australian matching his description. I guess I misunderstood...

Randy's son stopped by to work on his street legal race car and and said "it looks like a party'' and so it was. It was an unofficial "Bike Day @ RPM" and there may be another in the future. Next time it will be more of a pot luck but this time there were real tables to sit at and good Mexican food served from a full menu with real waitresses. When I asked if they were from Hooters, the silence was deafening...

So after lunch we set out for a ride. There is a picture posted of a few of the attendees and that is Randy on the left; you can see how sick he really is, he really looks looks like hell but he was a real trooper, leading the whole group on a most pleasant ride. That is my shadow (I am holding the camera) and if you look closely in Randy's misshapen bald head you can see my reflection.

While taking the pictures all went well until two fellows in a Pink Prius, noticing the pink stripe on my FJ strolled over and asked (one even spoke with some sort of lisp) if I ever got over to San Francisco and I responded "no, never". Well, the problem arose when I asked the other attendees why the two guys were holding hands. Randy mentioned something about me being a candidate for a 5150 (whatever that is) and the usually reserved Flynt looked skyward and said in a loud & clear voice "Preacher Pat pray for the poor boy". WindDance noticing my confusion kindly said "you will understand when you turn twenty one".

At any rate, a few improvements that Randy mentioned for the next gathering would be improved changing rooms for those who trailer their bikes and need to change into their riding gear; cool RPM banners to run the length of the pink stripes, real indoor plumbing, waitresses from Hooters and root beer & pop corn for those of us still too young to drink.

Many thanks to one and all who attended (and let me attend)...!

As to speculation that the above is a tall tale, such is not the case. It is really did happen and is mostly true...

Ride carefully,

Mike Ramos.

Mike kept babbling on about whether he was topping or bottoming his rear end...  I think that added to the confusion. :rofl2:
