Hi All,

I've just bought a new to me 92 FJ1200!  :yahoo:  It's my first big street bike.

I previously had a '85 Honda Nighthawk 700 S, which was a great little bike.  I had partially restored it, lining the tank, applying numerous coats of rattlecan black, and replacing bits and pieces with the stuff I could find on ebay.

I was directed here by the previous owner and have found lots of great info.  I look forward to meeting and riding with you folks.

Welcome to the group. I hope you enjoy the new ride, its a tad more machine than the Honda was. I'm in Richmond, not to far away.. There are a few other Va. riders I'm sure they will chime in... have fun

Hi All,

I've just bought a new to me 92 FJ1200!  :yahoo: ...

I'd been watching that bike on craigslist for weeks (popcorn)  and posted the ad here a few weeks back.  Looks like a nice example.

but a KLR?  :mocking:  at least you'll have something else to look at in the garage.   :blum1:

Welcome aboard.

You missed out.  It's in very good shape.  Got a Clymer on the way, and some neat and useful bits from RPM.

Don't mock my KLR man!  I've had it since new and has lasted over 60k nearly trouble free miles.  Apart from a leaky side cover gasket, and a leaking water pump seal (partially my fault, I installed it wrong) it's been great.  That and it will take me pretty much anywhere I want to go offroad.  I will never sell it.

Everybody ought to have a dirtbike to go with the streetbike, I think it's a law.....

Oh, and Mook, it's nuclear.

Not if you're trying to mis-pronounce as NEW-Q-LAR like stupid actors and politicans.  Jimmy Carter comes immediately to mind.

Jimmy Carter comes immediately to mind...

... and you know of course that he is an ex-Navy nuclear trained submarine officer (me too).  I also think he calls it Nu-Q-Lur to be exact.  He could say peanut though...  You'd be shocked how many inside the nuc community say nuclear like that. :unknown:

I wasn't in the market for another FJ, but it sure did look like a good deal.  Glad it went to someone who can appreciate it..  Just kidding on the KLR, cool bike!  Have a DR650, it's customary for us to take shots at KLR's at every opportunity.   Holler this spring if you want to ride some trails and fire roads.
