Any one used 2002 r1 gold dots on a 89+ fork upgrade?

Anything R1 calipers up to 2004 should work.

Yes......I have gold R1 gold dots from early 2003 bike........I believe they changed to radial mid-model 2003 (here in Aus anyway).

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.

Gold dots are still being used on all G2 FZ1s (06 to present day)

Those gold spot monoblocks are the best. I've been using them for 9 or 10 years. They are the lightest of the nonradial monoblocks. Use the Yamaha R1 mounting bolts, they are drilled for lightness. You will also need an R1 14mm remote reservoir mastercylinder for best results.

Or you could use a ZZR 1100 master, or a Fazer 600/1000 one with the integrated reservoir. I prefer any of those. Aesthetically I don´t like the separate reservoir

And I´ve been using the blue monoblocks 10 years and I´ve fitted now the gold ones. And there is no appreciable difference between them in feeling or power terms

And side to side, the weight difference is null, even although is true that the gold ones are lighter: the difference is that the blue dot pistons are made from steel and the gold ones are made from aluminium.

So fit the cheaper/accessible/or coloured that you like more.

I did the Gold Dot's on mine, I wasn't particularly interested in the lightness of them at the time.
I mostly went with them cause I did the wheels in gold........They work well with the FJR1300 master cylinder, and Galfer SS braided brake lines.
