HI I am new to the FJ world in that I have never owned one. I loved them from when they first came out and have ridden several of them fj11 fj12 and fjr. I am expecting to have a FJ1200 in a few months so I thought I would start reading up. I have owned rd350 fz600[x2] cbx kz1100ltd xt500 and most recently a VMAX.

Welcome Pat, this is the best place for FJ info and help. And lots of good shit stiring and non-FJ info as well.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Welcome Pat,

Sounds like you have had a lot of nice bikes. Yep, you'll find everyone here at the ready to help out with any FJ questions you might have. Or, just nice friendly chats about almost anything.

That RD350 you had, was it the water cooled version sold here in the states as a RZ350? I think they were RD350LCs elsewhere. I do love the 2 strokes.

Welcome Pat.
Looks like you have had a few bikes and now looking forward to an FJ. You will hopefully enjoy an FJ. Power is in the realm of the V MAX but with a lot better handling and the inside of your right foot will not cook to death (at least on the one that I owned many years ago). Also the one I owned had a real "death wobble" at around 110 mph. All bikes are personal as to how they "fit" physically and mentally. The FJ is a sweet ride. To me it's kind of like, yea I may have other bikes but I will keep the FJ. Its like your favorite tool (with 15 screwdriver's in your tool box there is one that you allways grab for first, because it fits) or most comfortable jeans.
Lots of reading here and if you buy one then there is probably someone from here close by to help you check it out. Nice thing about FJ's is that 99% of the known issues are well documented and fixes or mod's are published. I recommend that you read all the pages of Maintenance and Modifications, visit RPM's web site to get a idea of what parts are available for FJ and the costs (helps when you go look at an FJ to buy).
Life isn't about having the best, but about making the best of what you have...
