Bought me a 1986 FJ1200 the other day and will have a few questions every now and then.
Stuff like, is it true your sex appeal instantly rises 12% simply by sitting on an FJ1200?

Oh, here is the beast, nice rack!

Well, there goes the neighbourhood, bloody Aussies, you let one in and all of a sudden your infested with them.

Welcome to the group. You have a great group of fellow owners in your neck of the woods. Your bike looks well taken care of.  :drinks:

Yeah, I find it amusing that you've managed to avoid New Jersey and both of the Dakotas!

Hawaii, I can understand.

Welcome.

Thanks everyone for the greetings!  :good2:

I spent most of 2012, from Feb to Dec, in North America touring round.
Bought a new Bonneville T100 when I landed in Houston and ended up with 51,000 miles on it 10 months later. The trip of a lifetime.

A bit about me, I am a born again rider, dirt bikes as a kid, first road bike was a RZ250R in '85, then marriage kids etc, 18 years away from bikes, spectacular marriage breakdown, time for my mid life crisis. It was either a blonde or a motorbike, I bought a '71 650 Bonneville thinking it would be less maintenance than a blonde, boy did I get that one wrong...  :dash2:

Returned from North America, and decided the '71 is past it and will become my project bike, and bought the FJ Loco as my every day rider.

Gratuitous self promotion pic of me on the Dalton Highway absolutely and totally stuffed after around 850 miles of the worst road I have ever ridden on.
I needed a beer...

It took me two and a half hours and $21 at a carwash to get the bike clean...

You got my attention......Dalton Highway on a Bonnie?  And pulling a trailer.  You must have your pants tailor made.  Great pic - definitely worthy of my "Bike Pics" file.  Tell us more.

The Dalton was an awesome experience.

I was originally only going to do the Anchorage, Fairbanks thing, but I met a fella who had just come down the Dalton while in the Yukon and he gave me his Alaska map as he didn't need it any more, and my fate was set, I was going to have a look at the Dalton. Little did I know, but it had pissed down rain on the road for 3 days before I got there and it was a 2 inch layer of slop over a rough as guts base... I squirreled my way up through the slop to Deadhorse. Deadhorse is a shithole. Crossed the Brookes ranges in cloud, it was terrible, I could see 15 feet and the truck lights appeared out of the fog at 30 feet. I first geared it over the ranges at 15 mp/h squirreling along beside the guard rail, it was the only indication of where I was that I could see. Once I got to Deadhorse, had some sleep and turned round the sun started shining, the road dried out and the road graders went back to work. I rode a lot of the return trip at 70 mp/h towing the trailer passing GS's waving to them as I went past.

Helluva trip.

And here I am "chokin the chicken" on the dragon.

Bloody cane toads!  :sarcastic: The place is infested with them.
Don't make me come up there Baldy, it won't be pretty... we might have to settle this interstate rivalry hoohar in a typically mature and responsible Australian manner by drinking to excess and telling outrageous lies.   :drinks:

Anyways, it is scientifically proven that red is the fastest colour.  :yahoo:

Have I ever mentioned that I once met Marilyn Monroe in Key West?
