My 1200 runs with 1100 electrics but i've not got one of these things on it which i've just seen on ebay. Scroll down the advert to see the whole lot.

Do i need it to make the bike run properly?
It runs good apart from the headlight is dim. I've tried cleaning the earth strap and locating point but without success.
It's got the usual 1100 diode, which is the rubber block thing on wires.
What is this item?
The bike is UK spec.

So nobody knows eh?   FJ Owners?  Pah! :sarcastic:

Bah!       :blum1:

Check your voltage at the headlight socket and you'll probably be surprised at how little you're getting there.

There's lots more info here if you care to take a look in the files.      :pardon:

Hi,
if you don't like the way the headlight dims then there is a mod to relay the wiring so that the power comes directly from the battery. The FJ and many other older bikes have this problem. You can find the mod instructions in the files area. You can either build your own setup or there are relay systems prebuilt and plug and play.

OK, thanks for the replies guys.
But what about this diode?   Anyone?

Are you trying to fix the headlight, or just hung up on the rectifier?

Either way, the headlight fix is a relay and/or HID kit.

What's your standing (key off),  and running voltages?

Thanks again guys.
I'll try the relay for the headlight. As for the voltages, the bike is stripped to the frame for painting over winter so won't know the voltages until it's all back together and working.
So that diode i've shown won't be needed, as i've got no sidestand switch, clutch lever switch or neutral light, but neutral switch is in position.
It was something i'd seen and thought that i needed it as i haven't got one.
