2013 Colorado Rally

The 2013 Colorado FJ Rally is 30 days away. With a lot of the country in the 90's and 100 degree temps, a break to moderate temps should make for an enjoyable weekend of riding. For those that are planning on attending and have not already reserved a cabin or tent site. Please contact the Gunnison, CO. KOA campground to reserve your space. Gunnison KOA phone # 970-641-1358. For the upcoming Colorado Rally, yamaha fj rider (kurt) and myself have reserved a cabin that will sleep 3. There is an extra bed for anyone wanting to join us. 3 nights lodging for the price of one.

I'm back to having a maybe 35% chance of being able to go, though a few days ago I would have said 2% chance. I still shouldn't, but maybe I'd do it anyways!

In spirit indeed... I should send you a fairing piece to throw into the sacrificial camp fire. If the smoke is black then then FJ gods will grant me permission to proceed with repairs....  Have a safe rally.

I really wish I could go. Once it got decided when. Put in for vacation! And it got rejected

I am one of the three attending the Colorado Rally.

I will be going through the Reno/Fernley area on the afternoon or evening of Thursday the 18th.

Three days to go before the 2013 Colorado Rally. Last minute, spur of the moment riding to Colorado is encouraged.

Back home all is well. Great time in Colorado. Five warnings or close calls with the police but no tickets. Met a fellow FJ rider named Dewey form Montrose. Riding between Gunnison and Montrose we saw another FJ going the other way, a quick turnaround and caught up with him. We all pulled over and talked, he has a nice 89 with custom paint and other mods. He knew about the forum and we invited him to join. Wish more could have joined Fred and I. Looking forward to the next rally and meeting more forum members. Fred is a great fellow and I hope more members are like him.

I had a blast. I have not ridden in the mountains in 17 years. The mountain riding was incredible, and to be able to hang out with someone who has the same passion for the FJ as I do is priceless. I will definitely attend more rally's.

I so wish I could have gotten my vacation in sooner. I love the mountains. And being able to ride them with other fjer's would have been bucket list worthy.

Five total warnings or close calls. Twice police flashed there lights at us and twice we had close calls, cops were not paying attention to us were should have been pulled over. The last one was just me and I received a written warning for doing sixteen over the limit. I had just slowed down from doing twenty five to thirty over just a few miles before and was just about to pick it back up when a uhp coming the other way got me.
