Beautiful day here. 23deg and we`re still in Autumn. Winter got down to 12deg at one stage. (that`s + not -)
Expecting it could get as high as 28 deg in March.  :sorry:
Thought I`d take my Sunday morn Mantherapy down south of my place about 80klms. The stock FJ ran oh so sweet as usual and managed to clear some spiderwebs before settling at a mates place for coffee on Bribie Island. Took a few picks in his Manshed, I thought I`d share with ya;-

.
Ahhhh Heaven. ...Now tell me if you can guess who invented this (The first I believe) cantilevered suspension? Hint: It`s the same bloke that invented a reversible rear wheel (As also seen here) for a quick change of ratio for the track. (Once ya rode tha bike there. The operation to reverse it involved only 2 spring clips and a T handle axle - wheel then came straight out-reversed then straight back in- 5 minute job. brilliant;-

Now tell me the model incl year of this bike below. Hint: was the first production bike to do 100mph I`m told.

One more Question. What make of bike is this? year?

.. What a great Shed, A great day too. (And this is only half of what I got ta tinker with).

Doug, what was in the coffee? It's Springtime down here and the second bike to identify seems to have a V12 in it.

That shed has some seriously nice toys in it.

Not bad guessin though. (I`m Impressed1) Phill Irving also invented the adjustable
(for with sidecar or without sidecar) Girdraulic Forks, which I also took a pic of:-

The mighty Excelsior is a 1918 model "O" - the 1914 model first broke the 100mph barrier for the first time in history
on a production Bike. Bought out by hendersons (he had a couple of them in tha shed too! :-

Beautiful to hear running while watching pushrod & valves moving.

The Sidecar actually belonged to Phill Irving and the outfit was sold (stolen) 2 hours after I played with it. (for only $65000):-

That`s it behind the spare Indian he had lying around. :-

Ya can`t beat a Manshed for Mantherapy on a beautiful (okay Springtime - I was a bit excited) mornin.
(Hard ta tell what season it is up here  :good2:)

Is that sidehack an original Steib?
Seriously nice rig. Wouldn't like to be pulling any emergency stopping on it though.

I am around 70 miles east of Melbourne Doug, just a country lad.

I have my Bonnie stored with a mate in Houston, he is going to teach SWMBO and his daughters to ride on it.
It currently has a Cozy sidehack on it, I put it on there when my girl came over for a month or so in November.

The trailer is no more, plus I had to pull the tow hitch off the bike when I fitted the sidehack to it.

Awesome... awesome fun to tour in, we did around 4,500 miles for the month she was in the States with me.

Sunshine Coast on the 20th, will see what I can do.

Not any more mate.... living in Queensland cured me of that affliction.

I was born at KeeWeeRup hospital and lived in Nyora in my early years, but have lived up here since '83.

Might we see you at the FJ Rally at Bellingen in March?
