...can't wait for my 84 to turn thirty

Florida offers a slightly reduced annual registration for geriatric vehicles, too. In fact, they even offer a blue "antique" tag as a further distinction:

Can't wait, as I already have one of these tags for my MG Midget and my VW Camper.

Welcome :). I have noticed a number of experienced riders going back to or at least keeping there an FJ in the stable. My neighbor stopped by last summer and told me that he had a restored FJ 1200 a few years ago and sold it, but now wishes he had it back. Commented in particular as to how comfortable the seat was especially for the passenger (his wife rides with him often) and how advanced in design it was for the day. I found this interesting as money is not a problem for him and he always has the latest and greatest including his current modified 180 hp plus machine. All that and he wants his FJ back.
Its funny thet you say that. The guy who I  bought mine from keeps in contact with me. I bought this FJ in october this year. We were talking a couple of weeks ago and has asked me if I want to sell it as he wants to buy it back. He wishes he had never sold it. He owned it for 12 years. Funny part is he sold it 7 years ago and bought it back 6mths later.  He was very serious to and said if I do he wants first offer If I sell it.

Gidday Steve. I am also into cars. I am a GM fan. In australia its GMH  General motors HOLDEN, however everyone likes to put CHEV badges on them or chev engines. Been there done that. I wanted to do up another car. Still might happen yet. My son just got his licence last year and a car so thats kept me occupied for a bit. Im doing bits to the FJ in between. The same rule applies for cars over 25 as it does bikes or other vehicles over 25. What it has done is inflate the price of old cars heaps. Makes perfect sense to register this way.

Merry Christmas to you all. I have been meaning to say thanks very much to everyone for the warm welcome, but as usual time gets away and other things get in the way. i have had a look at the site, there sure is a wealth of useful info at hand here and alot of comical laughs. very entertaining.  Well At long last I have finally worked out how to post a picture on this site. I tried the ways that were advised by others on the post.  Was all  to hard. Im quite computer literate but talk about do your head in. PC nearly learnt to fly with a bit of help. . Anyway i tried it the plain and simple way of highlight the picture info and saved it straight to the site. perfect. i tried it again and wahlaa  bugger me i saved the same image again. Unbelievable. anyhow now thats sorted I'm happy. As for the FJ......... Well i have polished it numerous times and done a few little cosmetic bits to it but still havent got it on the road yet. I was turns 25 in a couple of days so I am hoping that i can get it going soon. patients is wearing really thin.wafer thin in fact. With xmas now  over the funds are a bit thin to so its going to be a liitle while yet.BUGGER IT.  On the up side  i still got my trail bike which is road registered. Great to hear from ya Jeff. Once you get on the FJ saddle for a 100klms or more, you`ll know why the previous owner has regrets. You`ll also be surprised at how reliably, comfortably and economically they`ll chew up the kilometres.
:yahoo: Make that Club Rego happen!
From there it`s a "me" thing. According to my football coach & motivator (A guy called Mal Meninga - ever heard of `im?) He reckons it should be "all about me" as a first priority. - so that you are then best equipped to look after your family and manage the priorities of time through good health mentally and physically. Putting time aside for you,... say once a year (pref march) is therfore really important for you, your family and your bank manager - long term. Don`t believe me? here`s a pic of me and our footy team just before Christmas, even got a movie of tha game (that`s me with the hand on his shoulder - Note his body language -he`s afraid (Probly cause I`d just asked him ta kiss me - can`t print his answer, but it wasn`t real romantic) - My team won, naturally - but all participants were winners.  Give Arnie a PM, he`s as tight as a fish`s arse, so knows all tha tricks to get ya there safeley and minaMalistically. (Yell out if ya wanta share a room with me..hehe he)
