Warming up the bike to go to work, notice a growing puddle of gas under the bike. 3rd carb from the left is pissing out of it's k&n. BTW, I have the best boss ever. gave me the day off to fix it. I figured a stuck float needle. took the carbs off. WTF!!!! carb # 3 has a hole in the float bowl that someone somewhere fixed with rtv silicone. hmm. so now i figure there is rtv in the works gunking it up. I took carb # 4 apart for comparison sake. carb 3 has a bs34 float needle, much smaller than the one on carb 4, but a stock needle valve seat. and the float level was all jacked up. anyways, does anyone have one right hand side carb bowl? Its not leaking anymore but that damn rtv makes me nervous. Can it be welded? Jb welded?

so po swapped one fuel pump needle seat and a vacuum seat , odd behavior some ppl have,,  was the bowl hole a worn through one or had the twit drilled it , for reasons only known to themselves  :scratch_one-s_head:  ,, have you checked for any more of their handy work
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

84 Fj1100  effie , with mods
( 88 ) Fj 1200  fairly standard , + blue spots
84 Fj1100 absolutely stock standard, now more stock , fitted with Fj12 twin system , no rusted headers for this felicity jayne

im afraid to look is the fuel pump needle the smaller one? the hole is on the filter side, looks like he hit it with something sharp, and then slapped some silicone on both sides, the inside stuff was deteriorating so i scraped it out and cleaned it, the outer layer is holding so far.  :wacko2: has anyone fitted a set of pwk's or other flat slide carbs?

I should have a bowl here for you.

I also have the correct needle & seats for your bike as well.

Or if you just need the correct needle.

I forgot to mention, when i got the bike, the rear shock had been cut and center stand removed. I installed an f4i shock, no center stand yet. So it leans over quite a bit. Also, i plan to set the float levels to 5mm tbis weekend. We will see. Also...damn carb 3 seems to be missing a jet, maybe pilot, will post pics after teardown tomorrow. In the meantime, heres one of my baby on the parkway at sunrise

no center stand yet.

PM me your address and I'll send you my old one... if you want it of course.  It would lift the bike at a slight angle, but the bent frame may have been a part of that.  It is in VG condition and I have the spring with it.

This shows the round slides. Page 72 shows the gold looking round (Cylinder shapped) slides. Flat slides will simply look...well....Flat.

The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.
