Hello, just a couple of words and a few pictures to introduce myself. Had my 1984 FJ since '96. It was soon a little bit 'Mad Max' after a slight accident and I rode it around like that for years. It then was taken off the road and used on the 1/4 mile. With 1200 barrels, pistons and XJR1300 carbs and a home build sidewinder pipe quickest I ran was a 10.48.

I loved the bike, especially the motor so decided I wanted it back on the road but couldn't due to goverment red tape. Really wanted the motor back on the road so decided to bung the motor in and old rolling chassis I had in the shed. As often happens with projects though it kind of got a bit out of control. Here is my old FJ motor now, although there isn't much of the original engine left now.

Hope you'll forgive the chassis  :empathy3:

Welcome and you have no reason to ask for forgiveness. That is great looking project you have going there. We all (nearly all) love to modify our FJs. Keep us posted on your progress and what different parts and changes you have on now. Very cool in my opinion. Kookalooo
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Motor spec. Fj1100 head gas flowed with +2mm exhaust and Inlet valves. Kibblewhite valves, HD valve sprins with Ti retainers. 1500cc OrientExpress block with Forged JE pistons, Carillo H section rods on a sorted crank. Falicon billet clutch basket with a Barnett spring conversion and the last FJ lock up OrientExpress had. 2mm base gasket to bring the CR down to about 8.9:1. Little T3 turbo. XJR1300 throttle bodies with the secondary butterflies removed and all the emmisions bolox gone as well. KMS MD35 ECU with 680cc injectors.

With this little turbo hoping for around 230bhp......Next year comes the large ballbearing turbo  :diablo:

I'm told I'm cynical, pessimistic and generally miserable. I say that I'm realistic! The fact that reality sucks is not my fault!

Evening nurse, spent the summer up your way. Wells, Burnham Market for a couple of weeks then a week on the broads. Beautiful part of the world. I'm in Bingham between Nottm and Grantham. Bike should be up and running Christmas then fettling it for it's inaugural trip to the Dragon in Feb, inappropriate vehicles for silly tasks  :good2:. Once toured a Stan Stephens tuned RD430E round Europe, 16 to the gallon.

It's a pretty part of the world, with some nice country roads.  You are a braver man than I!

I used to work in Lincolnshire often had to go to Grantham! I did a course in Bingham at euro medical systems on one of the industrial estates there!  Small world!

I'm the Head of Science at one of the schools in Grantham, small world indeed. My brother and I do regularly ride up Hunstanton way, will drop you a line next time we're planning to be up that way. Cheers Man
