hi all, going to fit a set of braided lines on the 84 ambulance ,( used them on my effie )     , what I was wanting to do was leave the anti dive units on , working or not, and just disconnect the brake line feeding it, and plug. the port, could this be done , till I can get some block off plates and remove it completely , , could just change the lowers but rather leave this one alone
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

Yes, I did that to mine back in the '90's before I went to the later model fork lowers. No worries 'cause they didn't work anyway and the feel at the brake lever was better with the anti dive units out of the circuit....along with the braided ss lines.....

Hi,
I was thinking of adding the blanks to my forks as well. Just curious, are you able to remove the anti dive units and install the blanks without letting any oil escape. So as to do it when the forks are still installed on the bike.

Randy at RPM has the AD disabled on his and his and his wife's 86's. The upper part of it is simply missing, no brake lines either. The lower part is still bolted to the lowers. Seems like you can just remove the brake portion and ignore the rest. No cost for block off plates either. Maybe Randy will explain how he did it.

How do I get in touch with him. I don't know his user name and I don't think I should be asking this through RPMracingca either.

Try looking here for all his info.

Emails work good, as Randy sometimes can't always be at his phone.

He'll be glad to help you out!

I havnt pulled the braking section of the anti dive off, just did away with the brake lines , should be able to at least take the top section off, , and I'm guessing you would lose fork oil if you removed. the complete unit  :scratch_one-s_head:

Yes, the bottom has fork oil passages that need to allow oil to pass through. So leave the bottom half on or get proper block-off plates. Or get RPM valves, then you can weld the holes up.

hope to get rpm valves for effie , will leave the ambulance ( felicity jayne ) fairly standard, although ss lines up to the splitter made a hell of a difference

Why stop at the splitter? Others have ditched the splitter and went two lines direct. Just asking cuz I kept the splitter but went braided from caliper to master....

effie has braided mc to calipers , the ones on the ambo are spare yzf ones I had and won't reach the mc , , used xjr standard ones in the 1200 , original ones were in a bad way, even the bleed caps were crunchy when I tried to pry them off they fell apart  :shok:

swapped over my 14mm mc on effie for the 16mm radial one I got cheeeeap ,, these things are awesome, takes very little lever movement or pressure to make the calipers work, no wonder gp bikes use similar ones 19mm I think, , wouldn't recommend them for a new rider as you would come un,stuck pretty quickly without grabbing a fistfull , excellent with blue spots and ss lines , ,, its a bremo mc as fitted to r6 and r1,s and most likely ducati,s ect , reason it was cheap , the young apprentice dismantling the bike cut off the urine cup at the plastic elbow just before it goes into the mc instead of unbolting the bracket , , I just happen to have a nip brembo elbow and grommet , picked out a spare urine cup , bolted on , bled and saved a $100 or more as these things sell for too much complete  :yahoo:   I paid $40 for it plus postage localy
