XJR Downpipes?

Have been offered a set of downpipes from an xjr. Just wondering if these are any good to me for my 87 fj1200. At the moment it's fitted with a Yoshi 4 into 1 with the front in poor condition ( patched with gun gum ). Might go back to 4 into 2 if the downpipes off the xjr would fit.
Can anyone advise as to whether or not i can make these work for me?

Hi Woodsman,
I have just recently fitted a complete 4 in to 2 system from an early 90's XJR to my 88 (3CV). The down pipes and collector box were identical to the FJ ones.
The only issue I had was the muffler mounts were slightly more forward. So I had to modify these to fit.
If you are just needing the down pipes, I don't believe you will have a problem.

Great, thanks Mike. Don't think the pipes are anything special but they are solid so might be ok if i give them a clean up and s lash of black paint.

black is the way to go, but if you like polishing , they may be stainless steel
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

84 Fj1100  effie , with mods
( 88 ) Fj 1200  fairly standard , + blue spots
84 Fj1100 absolutely stock standard, now more stock , fitted with Fj12 twin system , no rusted headers for this felicity jayne

I got lucky, scored a freebie "brand new" (less than 500km) chrome system off the XJR. I'm not a chrome freak by any means, but the PO wanted a louder system so he took it off the week after buying the bike new, and the price was too good to pass up  :good2:.
I think the black would look OK, but the chrome looks pretty classy, I think it does anyway, as I don't have the lower chin scoop.

Just my 2 bobs worth.

Cant argue with the price mate, full system or just the headers  , , speaking of bellypans, im going to modify/ completly fk a cbx 750 one and try and make it fit effie, only slightly wider and needs new mounting brackets to bolt it to, if it works out , might make a few extra  :scratch_one-s_head:

Not really  going to see that much of mine as i have a full fairing which i will prob put back on. Been looking at lots of pics and don't seem to be many with the full fairing on, most have the chin spoiler.
