Welcome John, interesting introduction, happy to to have another FJ owner in the club. Maybe you can find a few members with FJs near you and get in some group rides.

Hi John, welcome from a fellow uk rider.  I'm not sure what your sexuality has to do with anything, but thanks for clarifying your 'side of the fence'.  I'm not gay either, if that makes you feel any better!  Don't worry this forum doesn't seem to discriminate, not sure if you were worried you had just walked into a 'blue oyster bar' (see police academy) type forum.  Besides we all know that Wales (and new Zealand) is famous for being a place where men are men and sheep are nervous! :mocking:

I'm on the other side of the uk, but have toured Wales before, some very pretty rides there, some pretty good roads as well

Loads of info knocking about on here! Enjoy
A life has been well lived, if you have planted trees under who's shade you do not expect to sit.

I'm told I'm cynical, pessimistic and generally miserable. I say that I'm realistic! The fact that reality sucks is not my fault!

Thanks..not to keen on uphill gardeners, so if they can come out of the closet it should be ok for me to come out as anti poof..but it probably isn't....Agreed that Wales and New Zealand are know for their liking of sheep..but only the pretty ones...I have lived in both places..however I have also lived in Norfolk and they have a liking for a nice looking wooly jumper as well..

There's a book going round about touring Wales with some photo's..it's called Wales on a Motorbike..

Well you have your opinion and are entitled to express it, I don't have to agree with it though.  Life would be so dull if everyone was the same wouldn't it! Norfolk natives only tend to opt for those they are related to!  I can safely say that as I am originally from Essex.  Mind you most people living in Norfolk these days seem to be from either Essex or Kent.  Guess that's why the rate of in-breeding has declined.  What is it they say about Norfolk, there is nothing wrong with Norfolk that a few fresh chromosomes and some hills wouldn't cure!

Wouldn't be trying to shamelessly plug your book by any chance are you?  Quick google looks like you have been a busy boy trying to flog on loads of the uk forums!!

You know, it's amazing to me how often on this forum I'm finding myself lost when the Aussies, Brits, and Kiwis talk. After some research, I now realize that our new member is what we call in the states 'homophobic'.

And you are certainly entitled to be so, just don't expect others to agree or lend you any respect for having the opinion. Me, personally, I'm homophobphobic; hope you can respect that. (There, I've come out. )

Not everyone understands what a completely rational process this maintenance of a motorcycle is. They think it's some kind of a knack or some kind of affinity for machines in operation. They are right, but the knack is almost purely a process of reason.

Upon reflection John it's a bit much to jump into a new environment start chucking about views which do not exactly extole the virtues of tolerance in society and then try to sell your commercial  merchandise that you appear to have brought with you.

Anyone else care to chime in?  Why leave it at sexuality! Anyone you wish to descriminate against, why not use colour, creed or religion for future abuse!

I wanted to comment the first time you posted.  But, I held back, for fear of getting banned from this site for an angry outburst I'd refuse to apologise for.

But, as some have pussy-footed around the subject, allow me to speak my mind...

WHAT THE HELL KIND OF INTRODUCTION IS THAT?

At first, when I read it, one assumed you meant that cos you ride an FJ1200 you aren't a homosexual?

Does that mean the rest of us are then?

On reading it for the second time, I got the impression that you've had a raw deal in the past, and have got the need to express this statement with everyone you meet.  Do you say the same in a job interview?

Personally, I find it bloody offensive that you'd even consider writing such shite on a forum.

Although I am heterosexual (in case you are wondering why I am defending the "gays" as you'd no doubt put it), I take great offence that you feel this need for broadcasting your choice of words on a BIKE forum.

So, in case I do get banned after writing this last bit, and no-one ever hears from me again, let me say this.

Go **** yourself and take your homophobic views elsewhere  (Pun very much intended)

Added after initial post: Ok Moderators - I accept my ban should I receive it for such an outburt,  - I may actually leave the site because of this anyway.  It's really pissed me off so it has.

WHAT THE HELL KIND OF INTRODUCTION IS THAT?

It's just that... a hell of an introduction.  Certainly controversial, but that is the norm here.  Why would any of this cause you to leave the forum?

I'm not sure why you're so locked on this thread anyway?  If the guy want to declare he's not gay, why do you care in the first place?
