Has any body here tried fitting an ignition coil from a car to the FJ1100 1984? What are the possible effects? drawbacks?

What is the primary resistance and secondary resistance of the stock ignition coils? Working on a new project here after finishing installing an external voltage regulator  :good2:

Hi

I think it is more interesting to fit 4 individuals mini-coils integrated in the plug cap, like any modern bike. A couple of months ago there was a "how to do" report in Practical Sportsbikes mag. They fitted 4 mini-coils in a 86 GPZ 750

hey Alf , that sounds great  :good2:, wonder if they have an online copy  :good:
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

84 Fj1100  effie , with mods
( 88 ) Fj 1200  fairly standard , + blue spots
84 Fj1100 absolutely stock standard, now more stock , fitted with Fj12 twin system , no rusted headers for this felicity jayne

Some people who have the mini-coils want to get away from them...

Well, all modern sport bikes fit a set of individual coils and the GPZ 750 owner, member of the staff of the PS bike, has done a lot of km. in it, track days and rainy days included, and have no problems at all

The report about how to do the coils swap, with electrical scheme, is in the May issue. It doesn´t seem too dificult. In fact, the relay mod I think is more dificult

Do we have a link on how to do this? im not sure on how to wire this up  :good2:
