Riding question

I have been riding a motorcycle for 5 years now. I have come across my share of constuction, roads ground down for repaving but I am coming upon a situation this week that I haven't had to deal with and I think sometime this week, I will be. When they are paving roads, and they don't get it all done, the drop off from new to old is about 2 inches, or that's what it looks like on two wheels. How do you cross that line safely? Do you angle it to be more safe? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cross as close to perpendicular as you can, same as with train tracks.  If it's along your lane for a long distance, just go from one side of the lane to the other reasonably sharply to cross it.  When you cross, you should be pretty much straight up and down, not leaning at all. 

They're not usually much  of a problem, but they can kick the wheels momentarily out of alignment if you slide along rather than go over cleanly.

Follow andyb advise you will be fine. Ridding dirt bikes you do this all day long. Keep the bike upright and go over as close to a right angle as you can, it's no big deal.

My advice is: When traveling at freeway speeds, it's ok to drop down from the high side down to the low side, but avoid going from the low side to the high side.
