clutch and oil filter

ordered the spin on oil filter adapter and the clutch spring to hopefully take my slippage out of my clutch

Ditto on the oil filter adapter ! Just installed mine. Make you want to change the oil for the fun of it ! Adds a bit of oil volume and probably helps cool the oil a fraction of a degree. No more pinching or worrying about pinching wires (been there...).

crap i forgot the gasket, will rtv gasket maker work? i can get a hold the ford diesel rtv that never comes undone

i now will need tires (well a back one at the very least)
and i want to do the f4i rear shock how long does that take? i dont think i will have it before the ralley.

does any one have an 18 tooth front sprocket or a 38/39 rear sprocket

put my clutch spring in today, got a weak clutch lever, hoping its just air in the lines going to get some brake fluid soon, oilfilter tomorrow hopefully (if i can remember a socket for the adapter, keep leaving them at work)

I'm thinking on going 18/38 currently running 17/39 want to get 5 gear rev's down i just need to order a 18 i already got a 38

they want to much $$ for them on bike websites and randy is curently out of stock on the 18t

so they both are in and the clutch is bleed (for the 100th time)

the bike hooks up real good but is going to suck in traffic

two easy and cheap mods done, whats next?

hopefully more before the ralley

It'd work, but so would welding the cover on. Eventually, you'll hate yourself for doing it that way. Hell, at worst just use a sheet of gasket material and cut one yourself, it's just holding oil in, not sealing anything from pressure.

17/40 with a slightly shorter rear tire equates to 17/41, which I thought was a lovely compromise. Going 18/41 will be a plenty big step if you want to calm it down some, and save the fortune on the rear cog for the time being.

I"ve got one bike on 17/41 and the other on 18/41. I jump from one to the other. The 17 always feels a bit zippier ( it's not the motor, I swapped them over) when I first get on it but pulls about 500rpm more at 100k's. Having the chance to compare side by side, if I had to choose one, it would be the 18, but I wouldn't want the gearing any higher. I do a lot of country riding and no commuting. The 18 pulls 3500 rpm / 100 kph with 17" wheel.

so i should keep the rear spocket and change the front to an 18t

the gasket came off with no rips so i re used it and 100 hard miles and no leaks

i didnt have to use rtv but if i did they dont come off to hard just cleaning it takes a bit

What kind of RTV are using and how do u get it off? I would never put RTV on aluminum, but I just have a gasket scraper to clean it off with. One always removes some metal no matter how careful. What is the secret here? I have a valve cover to do on my car and wnat to put on RTV to insure a seal, but removal?
