Just fitted new cbr mirrors to my 3xw.  Bit of a faf but with a bit of patience and application I managed to make it happen.  They look pretty cool and my word I can finally see behind me!  I know I have promised pics and I will do just as soon as I have cleaned off my grubby paw prints, it just hasn't stopped raining long enough for me to get the wash down done!

Nice Job, she looks shiny!

One point though, it looks like you have armor-alled the tread portion of that front tire.  That will make that tire very slick when you start off.  I normally only ever use armor-all on the side walls of the tires, if even at all. Anyway, you may want to wipe that off with alcohol before you ride.

Just a thought,

Dan

No idea it was on it when I got it.  Given that the guy I got it from was an obsessive any parts he did swap he sent the original bits with it and the was the only screen. It is a Yamaha OEM though.  I have a sneaky suspicion that it was standard on the late models. I'm sure someone wiser than me will chip in though.

As for wheels, don't panic folks it's just water and the light in the picture!

What year and model CBR? And can you take a closer pic of how you mounted them?

Check out the mod files on here i just followed the pdf on there.  USes all your exsisting mounts, bolts and washers.  Make sure you keep all OEM and new mirror washers as you need to pack it out a bit.  Also needs to be well tightened otherwise it 'adjusts' back and forth too easily.

I have a load of pics in the gallery, one of those is quite close to mirror.  Have a look and see what you reckon.

I bought some aftermarket mirrors that said in the description they fit the CBR, but they were not close. I had to do some heavy mods including some grinding and JB Weld to get them to work, but they still are angled up too far - especially the right one. I guess if you want something that fits well, you should go OEM.

P.S. - Dan, I think that's just water on his tire tread. I hope you are wrong about Armor All on it. :shok: I didn't see a response on this yet.
I don't get that stuff anywhere near my motorcycle tires!
