I sure miss the routes around Bobcaygeon. Roll out of the driveway and it's curves and hills for hours. Now I'm in Orangeville and it's a struggle to find anything of interest for more than a few minutes. Flat and straight for hours - ruddy British engineers with their efficient grid system.

Also I'm in between "engagements", so if I end up in retail I may be relegated to working weekends. I'll let you know when I know.
Cheers.
Charlie

Hey Charlie......hope you can make it...it would be nice to hang out again.....only this time I will be on the ride.......Bob N PM'd his attending... I am hoping you and he could help map out a decent ride......keep me posted.....

Hey gang........the list is getting bigger by the day.....this is going to be awesome...the ride should be posted soon so hang in there....
.....it would be a big help for me if those who will make would confirm it here on this thread so I am able to count heads and know how much food to prepare...like last year I am planning to BBQ some Chicken....Steak..and spare ribs....so if you all could help me with your posted confirmation... it would be very helpful.....There is a beer and liqueur store 1 minute away if you wish to do a run after the ride...I am looking forward to meeting the newer members as well as the old..... :mocking:

Here is a link to a route map that starts with what was done last year - in BLUE Blue.
The exception is we cut it short of Haliburton and took the green route back west because the day was running long with a late start and there were burgers and such to devour.

I'd suggest with a good start time to get up to Haliburton via the 507 without screwing around. Pretty place to arrive at and the way in is curvy and hilly. The way out to the west crosses some water and has sweepers.
Highway 35 is excellent in condition and has a lot of double lane now so you can make up time if you have to meet an ETA at Kev's.

This year instead of Pigeon Lake Rd from Omemee to Bobcaygeon, you could go east to Bridgenorth and up across the narrows into Buckhorn by the back way. Route shown in TEAL Teal.
Only 1 stop sign between Bridgenorth and Buckhorn. Nice scenery all the way. Nothing technical. Then Buckhorn to Flynn's Corners is not far and the start of the 507.

I tossed in a loop around Stoney Lake but it's nothing special. Most of the waterfront is hidden from view with very expensive and secluded private properties. Route in ORANGE Orange

Possible refreshment stops:
Buckhorn - Marilyn's ice cream and candy shack. Don't blink or you'll miss it on the left next to the pharmacy.
Haliburton - unfortunately some of the nice places have closed up but you can park and stretch the legs. There is a Subway and a coffee/donut shop near the hardware store north of the main lights.
Minden - no shortage of choices.
Coboconk - chip truck on the east next to the Buck or Two but probably getting close to main BBQ time so don't spoil your appetite. Dying for a coffee? Further south into town opposite the Home Hardware should be a coffee shop.
Beaverton - Timmies and a McDonalds at Hwy. 12 (we stopped at the Timmies for a long break last year)

The rest of the way back was hustling down 12/48 past Sutton to get over to the 400 southbound. Figure out Kevin's place from there.

What time should we meet at the Port Perry Tim Horton's (1805 Scugog St)?
I'd rather get an early start... there's less traffic and I don't want to feel rushed.

Kev

PS.....got an email from Paul today......and he told me that he would have come if he didn't have another commitment.........I guess that just means will have to have another one soon after....... :yahoo:
