:hi: Hello from Erin, Ontario, Canada!!!

I have been an FJ admirer for a lot of years...and finally bought my first, an '85, (White with Red/Black stripes) on Sunday 2nd June from the Ottawa region. Five hours there, twenty minutes of look, sit, start, shake hands deal done and load up, five hours home. All for the princely some of $700.00 :yahoo:
A really good wash from top to bottom, front to back was the first priority :good:,

After inspection in my garage, all she needs for a safety is replacement a broken rear left signal indicator (now replaced) and the front fork oil seals, (picking up this week).

Cosmetically:...Apart from 27 years of normal nicks and dinks...The seat is cracked up a wee bit, however, (according to the wife!!), a Corbin Gunfighter & Lady is a good upgrade..especially with Cape Breton Bikerfest looming!!! I have installed a set of Krauser side hard bags (from my XZ550) and will be adding a top box.

After seven great years of owning/riding my 1982 550 Yamaha Vision, I'm really looking forward to putting this old girl through her paces...

                :good2: ....... TIGER ....... :good2:
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in an attractive & well preserved body...but rather to slide in sideways, body completely worn out and and with your last dying breath screaming, "HOOOYA LIFE, lets try that again"!!!

Bob

Welcome to the group.

CanDman, sadly I won't be able to make the NE Rally this year as I'll be out on Cape Breton Island, (Nova Scotia), for the 4th annual Cape Breton Bike Fest: 'Thunder in the Highlands'  :yahoo:

I'm very much looking forward to being part of this 'community', as I have never worked on an FJ before...and WILL, I'm sure, need some help/advise from time to time.

i used to go through Erin a lot back in the day. I would be interested in seeing any pics of the brackets installed that hold the Krausers or how you put on a rack for the top case.
If someone wants to see any images I refer to in posts, first check my gallery here. If no bueno, send me a PM. More than glad to share.

A big warm welcome. If your wife rode with you on the vision, she will like riding on the FJ even more. More comfy, gobbs of power and less shifting.
I'm not the fastest FJ rider, I am 'half-fast', the fastest slow guy....
