The tool I use is a bolt that the head fits in the damper rod and we ground the threads in to a hex so we could put a socket on it. Works great, did not take long to make and cost about a dollar. :good2:

You are not helping!!!

I am offering my adapter for any member that has donated at least $10 in the last 6 months. I will send for the cost of shipping to the next 5 members (verified by Marsh). Clearly not worth $10, but the warm and fuzzy feeling of helping the FJ club must be worth it.... I can have more made if the demand is high enough...

Not for profit, I love this group and all the help the many have given...

Sorry FJmonkey I think your tool is cool and looks like some thing not made by a red neck/backyard engineering.  :flag_of_truce:

No offense taken Kurt, the more we can "MacGyver" or "Red Neck" stuff for our lives the better, just my way of butting in and making a dramatic entrance. Anytime you can post a good low cost tool then we all benefit. Some can fab up stuff, like me, others not so much. I don't feel the need to profit, I have fun engineering shit for the FJ and my kids...

My kids are not on FJ's yet, but I did hot wire the failed HVAC system to keep the house cool during my week long visit in Northern Ill....

I too had to innovate, my forks were very loose so we were trying to put more oil in them. After trying to make something we decided to use a syringe and shoot it up from the drain screw. Surprisingly it worked very well. My forks are so much tighter now.  That tool looks handy though.

Well, I still have one set of mirror base wedges. It works as well as shoving a Philips bit under my CBR mirrors to get the right tilt on my 86'. It came out too narrow but it still works.

And I still have a few of these left, Simi_Ed has one on reserve, not sure how many. I can check next week if anyone is interested.

The donation rule still applies.

the headlight adjuster part looooks good  :good2: ,, will you be making engine bars, or just small items  (popcorn)   are the wedges needed on 89 models when cbr mirrors are fitted :scratch_one-s_head:

You will not need the the wedges for an 89', put the Yamaha base on the CBR mirrors. Use heat as some are thread-locked and won't come off without damage. You will also need to grind some of the Yamaha base due to the curve of the CBR stem.

If I can get a set of bars I can reverse engineer them. My work bends tube so I am sure I can buy the tube at the best price and then use the bender. A little cutting on the laser for the mounting flanges, some welding, run them through the power-coat line, Bang!!!! Monkey made engine guards. Not sure how universal the fit is over the years, I might need to borrow a set from each different fitment to cover the FJ family. Anyone have a set? If the two sides are mirrored then I only need one side.

PM me for the adjuster part as a reminder for me next week.
