Cigarette Lighter Install - wires and power point

I installed a marine cigarette lither in my dash for various power supply needs. I got it in there before I realized I don't have any more wire! Since I have to buy a new coil of wire I thought I would ask, what gauge should I use? This outlet will mostly power cell phone and ipod chargers, but maybe more power hungry gadgets in the future.

Also, does anyone know a good power point to connect this to? I don't really want to anchor it straight to the battery because I want it to turn off with the ignition switch.

Thanks!

my solution on my TDM, but could be incorperated on the FJ.  I ran a wire from the tail light because it's switched through the ignition, and power comes from the battery.  One fuse per device.
