..... with FZ1 forks and with a Traxxion Dynamic fork spring kit......... What would be a good measurement for the total fork travel.??
Sitting on the bike, pulling on the front brake lever, pushing down hard on the handle bars, with a wire-tie on one of the fork tubes, I have a measurement, right at 3inches of total fork travel. Does that sound right??....

Most riders here use the static sag measurement technique. Measure the unloaded position of the forks first. Then with just the rider sitting on the bike measure again. The difference is the sag. Best done with two people as the bike should off the side and center stand and your feet should be on the pegs. Not sure what the proper sag setting is for FZ1 forks, might have to look that up or check the other club sites for FZ1 settings. Traxxion might also have this info since you put their parts in it.

.... yes FJmonkey, I did the sag measurement,...... I am afraid, that the spring travel is to short. it almost feels like they are trying to bottom out..... at 3inches.

Being the weekend, I was hoping to check or make a change, for the Saturday night ride......thanks,

I see, not sure how similar the Traxxion parts perform to Randy's RPM fork cartridge.  But the springs ended up much softer than the rating needed for dampener rod forks. My first short ride last week tells me the softer springs are proper for the RPM solution. The cartridges work really well. Just pushing on them might not be the best test. Take her for ride on a rough and bumpy road at different speeds with the cable tie on. Maybe some hard braking as well, its always good to practice that any time you can do it safely. Enjoy your ride tonight.
