.......Is there anyone going, from centrel Fl.?

I am giving it some thought.  I am in St. Augustine, FL.  I will trailer my bike and have an Explorer Van I can sleep in, but I will also bring a large tent that can sleep four on two full size air mattresses.  I have a 12' enclosed trailer and I could possibly bring another bike, but I would have to put some extra tie downs in my trailer, and it will be a tight fit. But I am sure it could be done.

I'll have a better idea if it is going to happen towards the end of next month.  My family is expecting me to take them to Universal Studio again in the next couple of months.  We were just there and the new Rock'n'Rollercouster was not finished.  And then about week after we left they got it up and running, so we are all very anxious to give it a ride.  I'm going to see if they can all wait until Halloween Horror Nights.  I'll just have to see how things pan out.  Being the only male among three ladies my vote is quite often overruled.  But you know what the say, "Got to love the Babies, and Family First" and so fourth.

I am planning on making the Spring Rally if it is Boone, NC in 2010

Let me know your thoughts if you are serious about going, I would love to ride with a group of FJ's.  I am a little older and my friends ride Harley's and I get tired of them saying I ride to fast.

Later.........

I think you can safely plan on the ECSR in Boone for 2010.        :good:

Randy,

That would be great.  Most of my Family is in NC, and the lion share is in West Jefferson.  If I go to the Boone Rally I can kill two birds with one stone.

I was there a few years back and we road the Blue Ridge to Ashville, and then went on to slay the Dragon.  I was riding with the original FJ tire set up then.  I was so disappointed with the bikes performance I almost moved on the the FJR, but then I found a shop in Poway, CA that would do the machine work to upgrade my rims to the FZR1000 set up, and I have never looked back.  I will be riding this FJ for a long time into the future.

I have been talking about making a FJ rally for a few years, and I think it is time to stop talking and start doing.

Thanks for the update.

........ I have not been to a FJ really yet,.... I have on my calendar, something going on, (FJs) 0n the week of the 11th of Oct..... Not knowing how long I can stay, I think the FJ, will end up in the back of my Lightning. I am in Plant City, That is near Lakeland. I spend alot of time in the Bay area riding, not many FJs out this way. looking forware to seeing more. Maybe, when the time comes, I can take I4 to 95 and we can meet in your area. a

Jeff,

I know were Plant City is, I road there a few years back during the Strawberry Festival.  I have a cousin in Zephyrhills, but he only comes down during the winter.  Maybe we can hook up this winter if makes it down.  It is looking more, and more like I will be missing the Fall FJ Rally.  But, I am going to start making definite plans for the spring rally.

Hey ya'll! Central FL....is where it's HOT at! Yep Jeff and I are coming back up to Tellico. We're leaving maybe Saturday the 12, definitely Sunday the 13th to go up. I'll know better after this weekend which day we'll be leaving.
higbonzo we aren't far from you, DeLeon Springs. And Brook I definitely know where Plant City is.

We're staying the whole week (or at least Jeff is), my dawg and me have to leave for a couple of days, but will be back Saturday night, hopefully before the fireworks is over.

Can't wait, as I am truly bored down here in FL with flat roads and no curves.

Nancyk,

Your not to far off from me.  I would say a solid 1-1/2 hour ride, especially if the highway is avoided.

I want to make the Rally soooo bad, but I am just not seeing it happen at the moment.  It looks as though it is about a 10 hour drive to the camp.  And I would have a hard time getting up during the week, which is the best time to ride as stated by most who have been to the past rallies'.  And my oldest daughter is really pressing me to go to Halloween Horror nights at Universal, and I can't hardly blame her since we have gone the last 4 years.  CRAP.....I did this to myself.

Anyways, thanks for the shout out, and I wouldn't count me out completely, but It might only be for a few days if I do make it.

I have done several "fly by" rallies, showing up late on Friday night and leaving bright and early Sunday morning. Always worth it to me.

Phil,
Now wait....logistics....the rally is in September, Halloween Horror nights....heck take her in October! But The Fan is right, even a quick drive by is still fun riding and meeting everyone. It's about 9-10 hrs from my house. We're going a different direction this time per my SO, supposedly a little quicker. We'll see.

Anyway, if you don't make the rally, email me one day and me and the SO will meet up for a ride down here on our flat roads.

Nancy,

You are right about October, but we will go the first week in Oct.  And to make matter worse is my mom's B-day, my daughter's B-day, my nephew's B-day, my sister IL B-day, my Father IL B-day, my Gma's, and my B-day are all in October.  Now, as much as I would like to send them all cards, I will have to spend a few dollars in there somewhere.

I am really going to try and make the trip, but if not I will take you up on a road trip here in FL sometime.
