Spotlights and relays.

Fitted the LED spots to the crash bars. Then I started to make the wiring harness using 2 relays for the low and main/spotlights,  a bit of soldering and crimping. I'm going to put the relays  near the battery, where I put the horn relay. In hindsight, I should have put them inside the fairing, as the amount of wire involved :negative:. But, it's easier to put the relays by the battery. (my bike doesn't have the standard rear shock, it has a Nitron one, so I have the space.

When, I finish the job, I might even post a few pics.

OH, I also got out my pin punches, and knocked out the flashing on the cylinder head. On the left hand front side side, the flashing bridged the small area between the cylinder head itself, and the part of the casting that joins all the fins together.

I know it would have been easier to have put the relays some :cray:where in the fairing

What work? All I see are some wires going no were, are the lights on yet?

All the wires are cable tied in place, lights were fitted the other day. All connected up, I'll take some photos another day. :good2:

I forgot to say,I thought I had made a problem by doing this. Put everything back, turned on the ignition, the fuel pump just kept running. It didn't stop like it usually does after about 3 seconds! Mild panic began. Cleared itself after a while. I hope it was just the fuel tank having been removed that was the problem.

Yep, it takes the pump longer to build up if it has to fill the lines, too.

Not a problem, just means it's working as it should.

Not easy to show how good the spots are. But, look at the house in the distance with the spots switched on. :good2: I think that the photo of the dipped beam only was a longer exposure than the one with the spotlights and main beam on.

Nice job, with my HIDs I am not likely gonna need any extra lights. But your install looks good. Take a few pics from the front showing with and without your new lights. I also like the horn mount. As soon as I have the engine bars, that is where I want to install a few loud horns as well. I like it.

Oh yea! More light coming out of the front. Looks like a proper job. One advantage to having a second set of lights is being able to limp home if your main lamp goes out....

Did anyone notice the extra white stripe running down the side of my bike?

It's reflective tape, you can see how effective it is on the photo that i took showing the lights at night.

You can also see where I fitted the power socket to the R/H panel.

Oh yeah! I see the tape! Wow! It's like NEON! I didn't see them at first because I was so enthralled by your fly trash cans!  :good:

Hmmm. Bought a upgraded headlamp bulb, as the one fitted was yellow. Good for cars noticing me when filtering, but rubbish, when driving on dipped beam down unlit roads.

Main beam megga bright........ dip not so??????????????

Dipped beam is brighter when the original headlamp connector was clipped back on?????????

So, running it like that for the moment.

Damn, all the work fitting the relays, and it's worse with them, than standard!!!!!!!!!!

tank off time soon I think.

I got my dremel out a while ago, and cleaned up the hole that I knocked through on the cooling fins on the cylinders, looks better smoothed out.

Plus, although there are only three wires going to the original H4 connector, could I fit them correctly........ nope!

Main beam on, no main beam light on the dash. dip beam on. main beam lights up on the dash.
