My old girl has done over 120 000 km now and has been in need of a clean up for sometime now.

So carbs are off and ready for a clean. Headers off and started to polish them. Valve clearances and oil leaks will get looked at.

Some new parts are on order and a metal polishing kit too.

Everything is looking like it has been around the block to many times. I got bugs on my bugs.

Anyway things are under way. So any pointers or easy ways to do things will be appreciated.

Cheers

Hey Rover just one thing when u are taking the tops off the carbies use an impact driver as they're an absolute bitch to undo, also I don't know if David R is still around he does a really good kit for the carbies, the kit included all the screws (replaced with stainless steel ones) and seals/orings, wasn't that expensive was around the $20 mark but that was 6 or 7 yrs ago.

If David retired then I think Randy might offer a similar kit for you carbs.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Hey, I'm still here!  The carb kits were a hobby for me, Randy is more serious about responding to requests, so I gave it all to him.  :-)

In true Randy fashion, he contacted me about the kit and contents many many years ago to "ask" me if it was okay for him to offer them to the Legend guys only.  He said he would not "compete" with me on any of the FJ lists, and he didn't.

I got busy and wasn't responding to many requests, and since Randy seemed more intent on actually getting the kits to needy people than I, he's now in charge.  I think it is a very good arrangement.  :-)

David, you and Randy both are an asset to FJ owners. All those years you supported us with your advice and parts really mean something to me. Thanks amigo!
