+4 for a stuck float drain and replace  oil would be the best way to see if that solves ur problem and its way cheaper the pulling it all apart

I made an adapter for compression tester out of spark plug. And compression is consistent across all 4 cylinders  :yahoo: It looks like gas in crank is probably the answer. I'll know when I can change the oil again. Then I can change the petcock to a manual one. So I know it's shut off. And get back to getting her back on the road with better suspension, wheels, and about a 40-50 pound diet.
Thanks for the help. I would never thought about gas in crank.

Quote from: giantkiller on April 03, 2012, 05:46:48 PMAll of sudden It starts pumping oil out of the crank breather!!! Ive got to assume a ring gave on one of the cylinders. :

That is the first post I have seen that described what happened to my 86. I guess you could say I freaked   :shok: thinking it was "serious" and is the reason why it was parked for over ten years. A time came when decided to get the bike going (I was really Jonesing to ride) and I could finally afford to rebuild the engine. But after consulting this god sent forum. I cleaned out the air cleaner box and it was fine except.. everything else had turned to shit after sitting all that time.

I think that over time (50K miles for me) oil from the crankcase breather just accumulated in the air box and got to point that it spewed out. Something to check when servicing the air filter.
