Notwithstanding the above thread, your comments are, in my mind, neither unpopular nor miss guided -but you are +/- preaching to the choir.  If you spend enough time on this forum, I'm pretty sure you will see very few actual squids.  We all love motorcycling while still being fairly to very aware that the improper use of these modern day missiles can and will kill us.

There are aggressive riders here, but in my experience very few stupid ones.  Perhaps it's simply that the average age of the riders on this forum is markedly higher than you would find on a GSX-R forum, for instants, and/ or it's that the bikes are ~20 year old, either way you just don't see members crashing or getting spendy speeding tickets, (the artifacts of squidness) all that often, -and certainly not as often as you would on other forums.

The previous posts summed up most of the feedback that will help you, but one thing to keep in mind if you are riding a bit too hot on the street...
The guy you just shot past/embarrassed/showed he was too slow for the road might be the same guy that has to help you collect your motorcycle (and hopefully not... body parts) when your enthusiasm exceeds your experience in just such a situation.

I tend to use this embarrassment factor to control my 'spirited' riding when on the streets.   

I'm glad you made it thorough relatively un-scathed, and that you are out to improve your talents through feedback.   You should go to the track.  It will help you immensely.

Go get some lessons.
There's heaps of classes online for all levels of ability.
Better than spending money on bike mods,the skills stay with you, the mods stay on the bike and they are no good if you don't know how to best make use of them.
