Mounting bracket swaps?

I have a pair of natty Yoshimura cans on my 86 that I would like to put on my 89. I also have stock cans on the 89 that I would like to put on my 86. Is there any reason the two mounting brackets cant be swapped at the same time since the hangers for the cans are correct for each bracket?
