fitted a thunder ace rear end on the fj to day



its not finished

not sure about the length of the dog bones !!!!!!!

are those pics with the stock length dogbones?

it looks low in the rear to me.

Saying Kudos is not adequate.
I have a T-Ace swing arm and Penske shock on my '84 with the swingarm linkage converted to the dogbone '89/90 linkage.
My Penske is threaded out 5/8" (extended) and my dogbones are at 4" in length. If you have a non adjustable shock I think 3.75" would be a good length. (center to center on the holes) I see you have no center stand to measure so I hope this helps.

Now that you have a hollow rear axle, you don't need a center stand to lube your chain, I use this:

had the new dog bones made to day wheels are off to have new sticky tyres fitted and pic up saturday and the Ohlins Rear shock has gone off to have a new spring fitted as the old one had no sag in the spring

total cost of the new dog bones £ 0 happy days

new boots for the bike just to finish of the job

those are my favorite boots for the fj , those pilot powers stick like glue and warm up quick. you are gonna like it. :good2:

Ohlins shock went off to have a new spring fitted all done for £95
also got a good friend who runs a dyno he also is a bit of a tuning guru and well do the work on the cylinder head for £225
with Randy front fork up grades at £200 its brrn a expencive couple of weeks

but it should handle very good and go like stink
