Can someone please tell me the exact amount of oil to in my '92 FJ1200? I don't have a manual and I want to be sure I don't add too much.

Thanks, :music:

When filling the fj with oil, put a couple quarts in, then hold the bike upright preferrably not on the center stand and add oil until its at the proper level in the sight glass located just below the oil fill cap.

Why not on the centerstand ?

read it somewhere on the forum.. guess it doesnt really matter :pardon: of course you get the best reading when on level ground.

3.5 quarts should do it.You might need less if theres still oil in the filter or oil cooler.

The capacity is stamped in the clutch cover, under the filler cap.  :dash2:
3000ml, just over 3 quarts, 946ml to a quart.

It does make a small difference, if on the center stand vs on the ground.

I typically use 4 qts.  I fill it until the window is FULL up. Otherwise the Oil level light comes on under Kookaloo.

I just did an engine swap where all the oil was removed.  To fill it took 4 quarts but I think for a regular oil change 3 would do as you don't really get all of it out.  The site glass as mentioned is the best way and like Ed says keep it close to the top to avoid the red glow.

i alway do 4qts of royal purple, but i have a spin on filter which holds .5 qts by itself.
