1200 ABS front brake disks

Hi!

Can anybody tell me where to get good (?new?) brake disks for my FJ 1200 with ABS in Canada or USA? A friend is on a business trip in Montreal til the end of February and he could take them back with him. What front break disks are on your FJ 1200 ABS?

Hi Natalie.

I've been told, but can't comfirm, that they are available from EBC in England.
Part #'s I was given were
MD 2046LS, left side
MD 2046RS, Right side

I would check to make sure that they are for ABS application and are still available. If that doesn't work out let me know and I might be able to help you with some good used ones.

I know about the EBC disks. But the outer diameter of the EBC discs is 12.2 inches and the measured diameter of the old front brake disks is 11.6 inches  . How can that be? Would the EBC disks fit??? EBC says these disks are for FJ 1200 ABS. But shouldn't the disks be the same diameter than the original ones from Yamaha???  As far as I know EBC replaced the item no from MD 2046 to EBC212781. The outer diameter is still 12.2 inches...
One other problem is that there seems to be no shop in Canada where you can order them  . They are far more expensive in Europe (about Ca $ 650,-).

Stock disc should be 298mm. or11.7 in.
EBC disc is 309.88 mm. or 12.2 in.
I really don't know if they would fit but I do know that there are people using them on non ABS versions. Perhaps someone using these discs can confirm or deny this.

I checked with one of my Canadian distributors who imports EBC products and they do not carry these ABS discs.

I do have a set of ABS discs off my 93 FJ which are staight and still at 5mm. thickness whick we could make a deal on. If you're interested let me know soon as I'm leaving for holidays down south in 2 weeks. If you want pictures PM me and I can send them to your e-mail address.
