...... Went to Daytona Beach [bike week] last night. > a good test<
Once I got there, I stopped at a Hess gas station, close to the speedway.[ for about and hour]
Got a little gas and had a good look at all the different kinds of bikes [No FJ's].

Then heading out to the main strip  [where everyone goes] in heavy traffic.
The oil temp. gauge was showing 210-213, but climbing.
At that point, I turned on the two small fans on the oil cooler. But, it was to late, The oil temp. got to 245. and I could feel the heat coming off of the motor.

So, being on the main strip, I pulled over in a 7-11 store parking lot. [also for about and hour] watching all the bikes and girls in bikini's go by [9pm].

then I got back in the stop and go traffic. but now, turning the fans on...... The oil temp. got to 160-170 and stayed there, for about 20-30 minutes, stop and go.

So now I know, to turn the fans on before the oil temp. gets past 170 [in traffic].  after 170 the small fans will not make a difference.

note, if anyone, is thinking of installing any kind of small computer fan or fans, you need to install some sore of a warning light to show that they are on or off.... they are to quiet. [that's if it is not wired to the key switch].

I did not know that the fan switch was on, for a couple of days and killed a two month old battery.
