Hello. My name is John, and I live in Knoxville, Tn. Been riding along time, and I recently got a hold of a '86 fj1200. It's in fairly nice shape, but not the right color for the year. Not a huge deal. I am too new to FJ's to be a purist. lol  I like the bike. It runs well. Has a few quirks to iron out, but what bike doesn't. There is 13k on the odometer, but that appears  not to be original too. After looking over the previous owners posts, it looks like it has around 43k on it. Still runs ok, just smokes at startup. Anyway, Glad to meet you all, and thanks in advance..lol

Hell, you say that like it's a bad thing... at least it doesn't have a pink stripe!       :bomb:

Welcome HotDog, my first FJ was not factory paint either. This enabled me to go how ever I wished.

I see you have some Honda Customs. I too have an 83, black. poor thing sat outside for years. If you know anyone looking for a project or parts let me know.

My Red and White 86' is also a 92' and soon to be a an 88/89. 92' GSXR rear wheel, 87/88 FZR1000 front wheel and 89 FJ1200 forks with emualtors. I have the MOD bug and am loving it. Keep us posted on your mods and look for an FJ rally near you to attend. Cheers HotDog.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Thanks for the welcome, guys. I am liking the FJ so far. It's a little more of an aggressive stance than I am used to, but I will get used to it. Went from old Honda CB's to a Kawasaki Concours to this. So far so good.

If you were closer I would take the cb1000 off your hands. Parts for them are scarce. I don't currently need anything, but I will keep you in mind. I will mention you on the DOHC site too. Thanks
