Done about 35,000km on my 11/12 bitsa now and have used this site to fix all the problems (fuel tap/pipe,carb clean,17"wheels) I love the bike and it fits me like a glove. The only blot on the report is very annoying BuZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ from the clocks/fairing at 5000rpm that can drown out a passing F16 from the local airbase.I took out the lower front rubber mount bolts and greased them and for 2 beautiful days it was quiet. But it came back. I used the search but it seemed to be mostly for the proper rubber mounted engine. Its abit difficult to ride with one finger on the glass dash and I dont really want to raise the gearing (but that is a solution). My fairing is missing the intakes but none have turned up as yet.Is it just a case of wearing earplugs and putting up with it!!

I shoved a stack of two or three soft rubber washers between the speedo assembly and the fairing stop my speedo from vibrating.  The washers were about 1' OD - I put them on the bottom center of the assembly glass and  pushed them down between the glass and the fairing until they were barely visible.  I'm not sure if this is where your buzz is coming from but it's cheap and harmless to try.

put a 4-1 pipe on it and you can't hear the vibration anymore... :wacko1:

sync your carbs...

they all vibrate the crap out of themselves. get earplugs. :pardon:

+1 on syncing the carbs.... it does help a lot with the vibes and buzzing.

The guages mount on rubber that's probably all dry and shrunken, shim them a pinch so that they're better supported.  They'll still vibrate but should dampen things a bit.

Also, consider running a small bead of RTV between the dash panel and the gauge face to act as an absorber.  This helped cushion my gauges when they were rattling against the dash.  The upper edges of the  windscreen on my '93 would also rattle against their mounts at certain speeds. A little tape and some o-rings under the screen helped stop that.

Thanks for the tips guys. tried them all on sunday but still got the BUZZ.I've got a 4into 1 hanging in the garage so maybe i'll deafen the neighbourhood at 6.15am when I leave for work. I'll go for 3 teeth less on the back (got 42t now). That should make 130kph smooth enuff.
Now just have to get the rear ride height up without spending fortunes on a Penske, and a better headlight. Normally I use up a tyre in 10000kms but this Metz Z6 has lasted 25,000km so far and still feels ok.Perfect for workday use!
