'91+ Hepco Becker luggage on an '84?

I have an opportunity to pick up a set of Hepco Becker luggage mounts (side brackets and top rack).  They're the fitment for the '91 and up FJ1200.  I have an '84 that I'd like to put them on, but I'm not familiar with the differences between the frames of the two years.  Would the '91+ mounts work on the '84?  If not, would the mods to make them fit be a big deal or just a small amount of fabricating?

The Hepco Becker mounts for the late model FJ1200's 91-93 will not fit the early model years 84-89. You would need to remove the brackets on the late model mounts and fab up some that would match up to your 84 frame. Should be straight forward enough, if you have a welder and some flat steel to fab up the new mounts.

even if you had the right mounts i would still recommend fabricating something different/ better.... hanging them off the turn signal mounts is not a good long term solution BTDT
