Mike 86 in San Dimas

Rolled in about 1/2 hour after Mark. A little tired from the pool parties :drinks: :drinks: 865 mile week end for me and my front tire is done (Perrili spot demons work good but don't last). Very good WCR this year....wonder where we will be next year.  Enjoyed everyones company, Baldy was a great Australian ambassador, he only offended a few people. Klavdy would be proud. And yes with a little peer pressure he did the trek to the top Morro Rock. Really glad we made that side trip... beautiful.

Appreciate Marsh's efforts organizing this event. Steve and Mark were great riding buddies again, Steve blazing trail and Mark hanging back with me. Jim sorry about your unplained dismount glad you are OK. Special hooray for Randy's help especially with getting Jim's bike back to the partry!
Looking forward to here about other "home safe" post, with lies and pictures.

Thanks Mike,
I'm back in Santa Clara safe, though came back not quite as planned! It was really great to meet the West Coast folks, and Baldy too! Klavdy he done you proud.  :drinks:
As for my mishap, keep watch for a new member intro from "jamesearthcrash" as soon as Marsh tells me how to change my username.
My heartfilled thanks goes out to Mark, Baldy, Andy, and Henry for their concern and help getting me sorted after my dirt bath.   :dash2:
A huge special thanks to Randy and Chandra for their willingness to help me get the FJ sorted. The plan is to have it ready to go by Tuesday so I can be on my way to San Diego and they on there way to Colorado.
Man I really love all you folks, your all just good people!!

I want to take this opportunity to beat the drum, not James, the ATGATT drum, because he was wearing full gear when he dismounted off schedule. I was in front of him by seconds and nearly had the same experience with the same gravel. Why I did not meet the same fate will never be clear. After missing the gravel in the corner I heard a noise that we all cringe when we hear it. I looked in mirror and saw his bike down on the edge of a nasty drop into shrub and trees. James was up when I got turned around and was walking and I am guessing thinking of a million things at the same time when I checked on his condition. He was clearly pumped up on Adrenalin form the crash but not really hurt. He did suffer some bruising but nothing that would slow him down. His gear took the hit for him. I will let James fill in anything I missed. Very happy to see you make it through it so well James. Bikes are much easier to fix. Nuff said....

Tired... :boredom:

Oh well...

We got home about 3:30 after the ride home and the work is well underway.

Engine out:

Engine apart, parts in the washer and the gasket surfaces are cleaned ready for new trans.

James bike has been cleaned, carbs off and the valves are getting checked & adjusted. Crash parts are in hand and will be going back together tomorrow.

Heading out for Colorado Tuesday morning after reconfiguring the trailer to fit three bikes.

Great time, great rides, and great people.

home from the rally , took the scenic route 41 to the 49 north to sacramento.  just a extra bit of awesome on top of the rally.

It was great to see everyone again and to meet new people as well , Tim made a great new addition to the rally regulars with his perfected bottle opening skills.

I am glad James (earth bitter) is okay , his bike will heal as well as him. Rpm Randy was a trooper all the way and helped with everything .

No problems with the bike at the rally but..........on the way home my front turn signal broke free of the faring and waved at the wind at me. Craigs right hand cobra slip on tried to slip off on the 99 . all this 20 minutes after leaving the hotel.

so some duct tape for me and bailing wire for Craig so the broken mounting bracket would hold together for the trip home ....made it all the way with no more troubles.

goood times.

P.S. I know who the tank bag turner is ,  He rides a 86.  not steve.
