MuZ

Hi, Im Muz. Im from sydney and recently picked up an 85 FJ1100 in pieces for a streetfighter build.
Thought I'd jump on this forum as i haven't had much to do with FJ's before and figured i could learn alot from these pages.

So far I've managed to fit a yzf750 swingarm, and I've welded up then turned down an fj head stem and pressed it into a set of R1 lower triples so i can eventually fit an R1 front end to it. In the coming weeks the engine is getting a 1250 wisco kit, head work and the cams reground.

heres the bike as it is at the moment

Welcome to the group MuZ. To my knowledge, you are the first Sydneysider.

Plenty of good reading here to take your FJ to where you want to go with it.

Cheers

Take it you now someone who does blueslips

flips

Hi Muz

Welcome to the group. :hi:.Not to many other Sydneysiders here.Good luck with the project.I would also make sure that a blue slip was obtainable....I had to pull off my v&h exhaust and put back on the stock system a few years back on for a blue slip when I was silly enough to let my 86 rego lapse :shok:.( I immediately put it back on afterwards of course )

Ride safe & cheers :drinks:

Stay rubber side down.

MuZ

Yeah ive been wondering what im gonna do about the blue slip. I've had a few bikes blue slipped before and know that the standard exhaust is a must.
As for the other stuff on the bike i think i might just try to find some one who doesnt deal with bikes much and doesnt realise that its not standard, i know its a long shot but it will be a hurdle ill deal with when the time comes. the other option is to get an egineering certifcate for it witch isnt to hard as long as you follow the engineering guidelines.

must be easier being in tas, as long as the slip on is" quiet "they dont mention about standard pipes,  (popcorn) (popcorn)

I've had two bikes blue slipped in the last three years and both got through with four into ones, no questions asked. I suppose it all depends who you take it to. It may pay to ask around, you may find somewhere that will pass it with aftermarket pipes. Good luck, regards, Pete.
