Exhaust Stud Fell Out - Need Part Number and Glue

Hi All!

One of my exhaust manifold studs fell out. I looked on Powersports Plus and found this part:

95611-08640-00 - BOLT, STUD - $1.20

The exploded diagram was a bit hard to read. Can anyone confirm that this is the right stud?

Any ideas what I can use to make the next stud stick in? Oh, and do I need to put in a new crush washer now that I have the exhaust ring off?

Thanks!

Hi you.

That's a sad thing.

That's the right number.

Just did.

Red locktite.  Did it strip out?  Why can't you just put it back in?  If it stripped, you'll need to helicoil the head.  Yes, you will probably want a new exhaust gasket to prevent leaks.  Sometimes you can reuse them a time or two, but it's a gamble.

Yer welcome.

Thanks for the help.

It fell out somewhere between Long Beach and Brooklyn. I bought the bike not running so I'm not quite sure how it's supposed to sound. I guess the rising volume should have told me something happened.

I got a new one from my local Yamaha dealer (only took one week and four calls to the severely unfriendly staff). I ordered the stud from Powersports Plus, but they took two days before getting back to me that I needed to pay more for shipping. I expect New Yorkers to be ass holes about customer service, but I don't usually get such slow and messy service from online retailers.

I put the new stud in with blue locktite (don't have red). It's pretty loud but then again it was before so I'm still not sure where I'm supposed to be. This bike is not about fine tuning, it's about addressing emergencies. I'll post the next one in a new thread.

Thanks again!

You should call Woody's performance (vender page) they are real good to work with. and you will get your parts quick.

David, if it was turning out to be that much of a hassle you should have called me, I could have dropped one in the mail and you would have had it in no time.

+1

My last RPM order made it to Indy in only three days, with standard shipping.  Pretty impressive.     :good:

Thanks Randy. I didn't want to bother you because I couldn't find the studs on your page. Next time I'll give you a call!
