I got this baby for next to nothing

It says its a 12 volt so the FJs battery should handle it right? Also its says its 105db, thats louder than the FJs isnt it?As for mounting, I am sure it will work, not hard to put it on I am sure.

If a horn is called a hooter in South Africa I'm not so sure I want to know what a horn is down there and I'm positive I don't want to see a graphic image.
What do you mean, you don't have a lathe?

i SWEAR i saw this pic on ehowa.com about a week ago!!!!.........

btw, nice beeper!!....yes, it will work.....you might need to "tune" it tho for the most volume.....the tiny flathead on the back will alter the resonance frequency to get the loudest sound, and yes, you do need to check it......especially on the cheaper horns out there, about half the time, they are out of adjustment a bit........makes em sound like a strangled goose!!

Hi there.
Is your fj "hooter" not working well?.It might pay to check the volts actually getting to your "hooter".Could be a poor ground, bad connection in the wiring,or poor contact in the "hooter" button itself. You could test your "hooter" direct to the battery.A relay mod for your "hooter" would work well.I decided my fj could use some bigger "HOOTERS" so  installed some "AIR HOOTERS".Big "HOOTERS" are fun after all!  :rofl2:

Cheers :drinks:

LOL, okay maybe I used the wrong term, but a hooter in South Africa would be more accurate for a car..

The hooter went on quite alright, quite a bit louder than the OEM one. I was just interested in what the OEMs db sound went up to?

And to Ninjamudder, thanks for the tip about adjusting it, never knew I could, so I may have it a little louder by the end of the day.

Oh the horn went on alright, quite bigger than OEM so the mounting angle was adjusted slightly.
