rotor sizes

hey guys, got a quickie......on my 85, the p/o swapped a 5.5x17" yamaha rear wheel onto it.....pretty sure its from a fzr 1000.......the rear rotor seems to be about 15-20mm smaller in diameter.....can i use a fj rear rotor on this or do i need to swap on the fzr caliper bracket......my rear pads dont contact the rotor on the very top of the pad, and eventuallly, the pads will bottom out on themselves, before they are completely worn......besides, the rear rotor looks a little thin as it is.....

267 vs 282mm.  Sounds like you've got the right animal as far as ID.

I'd want to be really, really sure of my brakes being absolutely correct.  But that's just me.
