Marco Simoncelli has died after a horrendous crash at Sepang, Malaysia.
He will be missed.

A young man with lots of potential.  Always good and entertaining to watch.  RIP.

That was a horrible crash.  Really a shame, he was a talented rider.  RIP.

Yes, the motorcycle racing community lost one of it's more talented riders.  As crazy as he was, he was fun to watch.

RIP Marco.

I just saw the video today. Pretty nasty situation. Unfortunatly the other two racers will spend a long time thinking, "What if I..." while replaying it in their mind a million times.
I know it's not their fault, but I'm sure it will be hard for them to deal with. :sorry:

Horrible crash. I Wonder why the helmet came off, rare event.

sad... just saw the vid of this, from the looks of it, the chin strap of his helment was either pulled from the retaining rings(not too likely), originally not fastened,(HIGHLY DOUBTFUL, but hey...people forget) or the initial impact of the first bikes front tire on the helment shell caused the anchor point to seperate from the shell....

any way you slice it, sad day/week for motorsports fans on both sides of the globe.....it dosent matter if theyre your #1 favorite guy, or someone that absolutely makes your skin crawl,(the old wars between jeff gordon/dale SR. come to mind).......this is a somber reminder to ALL of us of the risks that we take every time we put our shoes on in the morning, and progress through the day.

for his friends, family, and loved ones....i wish them comfort in this time of tragedy

i gotta go hug the kids before they leave for school..........
