Took a nice ride sunday with a buddy.  Weather was fanstastic.  Sunny and clear started a little on the cool side but ended up in mid 70's with no humidity.  Lots of curvy mountain roads and great scenery.  Trees are starting to change up in the Va highlands.  I took a couple pics with my phone-camera which did not do the colors any justice.  Only 410 miles from 7am - 7pm.  Not up to ass-grinder standards, but fun anyway

Maury river through Goshen pass

Valley,  220 between Hot Springs and Monterey.  Supposed to show the tree colors - camera-phone wasn't up to it, but pretty shot of the valley anyway.

Highway 501 between Glasgow and Buena Vista, overlooking James River.  (just beyond that last tuft of grass it's almost straight down for 300-400 feet)

Nice shots, I can picture myself fanging down those roads then screeching to a halt saying "yep... here's the spot for a pic"

There's 2 places I really want to go touring    No1: Spain      No2: USA

I should probably stop spending so much time on this forum and get my ass to work    :dash2:
Life's pretty straight without twisties.

Goshen pass is a great ride. I cant even remember how many times we have stopped at that overlook... dirt bikes and street bikes.....it's a great area.

hope to see you soon Dan.

that last pic above is from a small gravel pull-off on 501 high above James river.  I've wanted to stop there plenty of times but it's right in the middle of a great stretch of twisty road and always catches me by surprise.   As I have flown by in the past just catching a glimpse I have often thought it looked like a great view..  But this time I was ready for it.  and it was a great view.

Frank, yep I have a LOT of pictures of Goshen pass.  About as many as of the Dam from Deals Gap overlook. :)   Well let me know if you want to ride, I'm in.. still good weather left and trees about to change.  fruity pebbles! lol.
