Nice Kev, very nice! You and your team worked thru the issues and you did not give up.

Questions: What's going on with the rear seat area? I have not seen that before.
Looks like you got those F-1r's to fit just fine. The bracket offset does not look too bad.

Yep, you now have a modern classic with a very high RDI **
A 80's classic motorcycle, a very comfortable steed with a monster motor and a modern suspension, brakes and tires....pretty cool eh?

Here's a Helpful Hint: When you park in a group of bikes, leave a little extra distance between you, and the next bikes either side of you.
This is to allow room for people to walk around your bike..... and they will...You will see.

If Yamaha were to reintroduce the FJ with these enhancements, along with the fuel injected 1350 XJR motor, the Suzuki 1250 Bandit would not stand a chance.

Kudos Kev!    Welcome to Modifiers Anonymous    Felix..

** As per Frank Moore: RDI= Relative Duplication Index..... the odds of someone pulling up next to you at a traffic light with a motorcycle exactly like yours.

heheeh I thought Frankies was blue...lol....as far as the seat goes.....I cut off the ass of an 82 Seca Turbo and married it to my Fj...I liked the corbin seats however I didn't like the back rest for passengers...made it look too tourey....so I wanted the bike to keep a sportier look with the comfort for a passenger. I made the seat and then sent it out to a professional upholsetry company...I love how it turned out......and Pat...I could never have done this without all your help..... thank you so much and I hope to get to california one day for a rally.....and meet some of the boys over there and take the" Long and winding road".....Kev..ps....the speedo mod is my fav....works to perfection with no issues of any kind

Thx Big Red......I hope to get out your way on CanD someday....if I can just figure out a way to go through all that wheat ...........but I can imagine what an awsome experience it would be to ride through the mountains......hey how about this.........I 'll drive out there and meet up with all the club members out there....then all of us head down the coast to sunny california for a west coast rally....maybe next year....that would be a rocking chair story for sure  :drinks:

Long story short....

My little sister coined the term.....she started riding when she was 8 and had been riding the YZ80 i bought for her for about 2 years... she used to watch me and after months of ass busting by the little beast she finally learned how to pop a wheelie........

finally she got the knack of it.... i mean she got really good at riding a 2 stroke wheelie, changing gears and everything on one wheel. That race kitted YZ80 was not easy to ride in the least either... lots of grown men had been thrown off the back of it but i digress......

I would sit out front and watch her practice for hours (she wasnt allowed to ride un supervised) and when she would really get into a good wheelie, she would shift into 4th gear and keep the bike balanced right on the pipe with judicious throttle control.... it was fun to watch. (especially after watching her bust her ass so many times learning the wheelie)

She didnt even realize she was screaming anything... it was just a natural expression of happiness for her and her one wheel mastery of the YZ80 beast.

I just picked up on it .... i guess it's use would be like"Kind regards"or "best wishes" except i wish everyone the feeling of the thrill!    In present company everyone knows the rush of the FJ when the tach swings into the upper range so i guess it was kind of natural for them to pick up on it.

How do you explain to people that you use a word that doesnt really exist to describe an emotional state that really does exist!

one must experience it in order to know it.

imagine Barney Fife (of Andy Griffith show ) doing the call of the red crested lake lure...... HOoty Hoooooo! and you will know how it's supposed to sound !

now you know.

Kookaloo! (get some whenever you can, however you can) :good2:
