Jesse, I would suggest that before you even consider investing any money in a big block motor, that instead, you buy a used fairing with the proper side scoops so you can cool the top end of your motor...

Just a suggestion....
1) Free Owners Manual download: https://tinyurl.com/fmsz7hk9
2) Don't store your FJ with E10 fuel https://tinyurl.com/3cjrfct5
3) Replace your old stock rubber brake lines.
4) Important items for the '84-87 FJ's:

Will keep a lookout for one of those as well. I heard from a mate of mine that somewhere in my country there is a kunkyard where tons of old bike parts can be acquired, so in December when I get off from work I will go there for a weekand check things out. Turns out the FJ used to be very popluar here , I just live in a very dead motorcycle town

Latest update. The oil leak has been confirmed only to happen when series of WFO are applied

But seriously I have checked the bike thouroughly everyday checking on the leak, running it smoothly then like a bat out of hell on wide open throttles. Every occassion the engine temp was roughly the same, but only on the occassions when the throttle was opened did any oil leak out(especially when just standing still and revving the bike). Still not much more than a trickle at a time has escaped.

I have however contacted Randy with an enquiry on the cam chain gasket(seem to have a problem figuring out my zip code-SA only displays postal codes and the shipping rate with my postal code works out cheaper than shipping inside of the USA??). So I plan to order one and then next month get valve cover gaskets and maybe a cam chain tensioner if the pocket allows, other than that I am making a plan to make my own plastic air ducts for the time being. My exhaust will be fitted tomorrow so hopefully that takes a bit of strain off the motor(i started the bike up this morning and a puff of grey/white smoke exited the engine and then it died

As for the manual I contacted a guy in SA who said would send me the file as a PDF for FREE on disk, so I just have to wait for him too.

Unfortunately not, my stupid work server wont allow me to download things like that off the internet. So I gotta wait for my friend or by a hard copy
