Mike Ramos

Good evening everyone,

Just as everyone else is, I am pleasantly surprised to see that RPM will be stocking additional parts for the FJ's.

I would like to mention that the parts that RPM has sold to date (as well as the new additions) are kept in stock at RPM's shop. Randy is not just a middle man where he orders the parts on an "as needed" basis, but a true stocking vendor. It is a VERY substantial monetary investment in inventory on his part. To make such a substantial commitment in today's Internet world is quite unusual and of great benefit to all FJ owners in not only quick delivery but also competitive pricing.

I have no idea what the cost of product development is in both time and from a financial aspect, but it must be substantial. Because of Randy's efforts, we now have updated & upgraded oil coolers, tail lights, suspension componets (including a fork brace) and more items on the horizon.

Another plus which has been understated yet also indicative Randy's dedication is his unique and comprehensive knowledge of the the FJ's which he freely shares with anyone who has a question. Via his web site or over the phone he is readily available.

In addition, the several times I have not been able to have my motorcycle serviced at RPM during the week, I have made appointments for the weekend which were most convenient for me, if not for Randy...!

Ride carefully,

Mike Ramos.

If anyone is in the market for new grips, I highly recommend you purchase Randy's foam grips:

http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=M%2FC%3AFoamGrip

By far the most cost effective mod I've done so far.  I've had them on shelf in the garage for a while, wish I would have put them on a long time ago.  I had been using Progrip gel grips but was not satisfied with their comfort.  Added some grip puppies which didn't do a whole lot to help.  These foam grips from Randy coupled with the Vibranator bar ends I previously installed have dampened just about all vibration coming through the bars.  If you're in the marked for grips, these are $10 very well spent.  My only advice is that if you use the caterpillar o-ring throttle lock, don't push the grip on too far or it won't engage the o-ring.

The O.E. Yamaha parts are starting to trickle in. I have added everything to the website tonight, there is much more coming and I will be posting those parts in blocks as they are loaded onto the website.

Today additions:

86-87 Fuel Tank Petcock, with safety wired outlet fitting; completed with S/S safety wire to prevent rust and to ensure the fitting never falls out.
91-93 Throttle Cable Assy
FJ1100 Clutch M/C Rebuild Kit
Nylon Fairing Washer
Chrome 5mm Upper Fairing Screws
Drive Sprocket Lock
89-93 Front Axle

I have a bunch of tire service tools coming in this week as well; Tire Spoons, Rim Protectors, Wheel balancer, Wheel weights (clip & stick).

Please keep sending me your requests, that is what I base my future stocking item on. I will continue to add parts to the stock for you to keep you running. If you have something that you need and you do not find it on my website, shoot me the part number and I will get the price and availability for you.

Thanks you for the kind words and your continued support, I hope to meet many of you at the two upcoming western states rallies.

Randy is da MAN. :yahoo: :yahoo: :i_am_so_happy: :i_am_so_happy: It"s great to see there is a place that someone is going to stock parts for our bikes and not try to rip us off by charging double for them. Way to go Randy. Big r

Two things that popped out of my head:

1) Does Yamaha still provide the OEM tool kit?
If so, would it be worth buying?

2) How about foot peg rubbers? I for one would be in need of new ones, rider and passenger.

How about the `04 R1 (1/5turn) and `06 R6 (1/6 turn) throttles?  I'd have to sit and measure the FJ throttle tube, but it's a common mod that many people like, increasing throttle sensitivity.

Nat,

Foot peg rubbers are already on order, I am checking on the tool kit.

Andy, I have forwarded the request. We will see what the distributor can do to help. Just confirming these are stock Yamaha parts?

I did receive a bunch of part this week but just not had a chance to add them to inventory yet, they include; Side panel oval & round grommets, Swing arm & linage bearings/bushings/seals, Foot peg rubber washers & small head bolts, Fairing protectors (blk covers), Swing arm chain wear block, Odometer Knobs, and another order is scheduled for today as well.

I hope to get all of the parts online before I have to go back to work tomorrow night.

Randy, 4YR-26240-02 is the 1/5 turn and 2CO-26240-00 is the 1/6 turn.

I'm shocked that people haven't discussed it here, it's a very common mod for many other types of bikes, as it gives a more sensitive throttle.  I'm using the 1/6 turn on my ZX9 and am really quite pleased with it, though it did take some dremel work within the housing to fit properly.

Would also be interested in rear indicator lights from one of the later models, for the ones of us who would like to upgrade to the teardrops...  :pardon:

Nat,

I doubt those will go into stock. I can check on S/O of those for you if you'd like, but since it is not a high movement item, I doubt they will be on the shelf.

Plus, I am sure the used market is probably pretty big as well.

Let me know if you want me to get pricing for you.

Okay, the tool kit will not be sitting on the shelf either...It has a list price of $181.37, I can supply it for $168.70. The inventory says, two (2) available and after that he doesn't think they will be available anymore.

If anyone wants me to S/O a tool kit for them, email me directly.

For $181.37 it should come with a Snap On tool box.

I don't make the prices...I just pass them along.

Somebody might need to OE tool kit for their restoration.

True enough, and I wasn't giving you (the messenger) a hard time Randy, that's why I chose the list price to poke fun of and not your discounted price.  You're a good guy.
