OK my fellow modders....hit a bit of a wall........I am having clearance issue with my rear mod. I am doing the T-ACE rear swigarm mod......however I am using the 02 FZ-1 rear wheel. Needed some sparcers to centre the tire and line up the rear brake. I used the 18 toothed VF1000 front sprocket and macined it and put the shoulder side facing the engine.....mounted the rear sprocket (didn't turn it in-would compound the problem).......and for some reason.......the front sprocket still needs to come out another 2-3 mills in order for the chain to miss the tire.........anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone heard of or used an "offset" front sprocket? resolve this and she's done  :drinks:

Hey Kev,
a couple of options for you'se...

1) Measure the offset on your existing Honda sprocket and you need to add 2-3 mils? Come up with a total number and call these folks: http://www.sprocketspecialists.com/  They can come up with a custom sprocket for you.

2) You can always pull the engine out of the frame, open it up and install the XJR output shaft (along with the "milled" XJR side cover) which will move the sprocket out. That way in the future, you don't have to dick around trying to find special order offset sprockets.

3) With Rittner's T-Ace conversion we use the Honda front sprocket and turn the rear sprocket so the offset is inboard (chain closer to tire)
You did not explain why you can't do this..... Re: Spacers: Line up the chain side first, cut your spacers for this dimension...then see where your back rotor ends up ..and then shim the rotor out to your caliper as necessary.....

Necessary? baaaah, who the fuck uses the back brake anyway?   Cheers  Felix

Ok..........wtf....the lazer showed the two sprockets did not line up......out by a quarter inch and it appeared that the chain was going to hit the tire (w/rear sproc out). Turning the rear sproc in would have made it worse....(there must be a width diff between the T-ace rim and the FZ 1 rim).....well the first thing to do was make sure the rear tire was dead nuts centre between the swingarm....needed to use some spacers but we nailed nailed nailed it !!!!! next was the rear brake and cals....again dead nuts on the money ......the last thing was the chain........according to the lazer...it wasn't going to work.........but alas.....we threw on the meaty Tsubaki and somehow the chain seems to miss the rubber???????? Should be ready for a test drive tomorrow......hopefully there will no binding. If not....well.....it'll be the SWEEEETEST CAN D . Only thing left to do.....cut away the rear plastic fender....tighten the spring on the centre stand......hook up the second horn......and hook up my new GO PRO HD VIDEO CAMERA............AND LCD VIEW SCREEN......AND ITS OFF TO THE  :drinks:. FOR A HUGE CELEBRATION.... :bye2:. Thx again Felix.......you da man !! :praising:
